Can someone explain the "lax bro" stereotype to me?

we don't have lacrosse here, but i think some hipsters play it or something, and my cousin that lives in MD does, and he's kindof a douche, but i don't really know him much.

A lax bro is a guy who plays lacrosse and fully embraces the culture. Commonly found in Maryland, many also spend their time outside laxin' going to Catholic schools and boating. Many lax bros populate Annapolis and the Eastern Shore of Maryland, mostly the Easton area. They spend a lot of time in Ocean City catchin' waves or beach laxin'. The babes surrounding lax bros are commonly their girlfriends or friends from school. An important thing to remember about lax bros is that they may sleep with a trashy girl, but kick her out immediately afterwards. Lax bros will typically marry the female counterpart to himself, which is a girl who dresses with class and will take their little lax bros to lax practice starting at age 4. These girls also know how to play lax and will lax sesh with the bros from time to time. Many also play field hockey. Lax bros have potential to be assholes to girls and other people outside of their circle, but they are complete gentlemen to their ladies.

Essentially, lax bros are a result of the connotations of beach culture linked with lacrosse culture, the two go hand in hand in places like Maryland.

Captain lax bro before a game: "Do work son!"

Lax bro 1: "Dude, did you just see that chick?!"

Lax bro 2: "Yeah bro she was alright."

Lax bro 1: "Just alright? Son you need your eyes checked."

Lax bro 2: "Bro chill, get with the flow, did you forget I'm practically engaged?"

not gonna lie i break out the lax bro on the beach all the time .... so fun just to pass a ball around on the beach and talk to bitties ( or attempt to lol )
 
as a lacrosse player, but not a true lax bro, i find it super funny. you can spot these kids from a mile away too, and we're always making fun of them

they wear either their lax shorts, or like those crazy patterned colorful shorts. if they are a true lax bro, they will wear a lacrosse pinnie outside of lacrosse.

they also yeah high socks, about mid calf usually (i do this, but not that much outside of lacrosse). also, they will wear turf shoes around (but i only know one true lax bro who does this a lot, i do it sometimes)

they usually have a lot of lacrosse sticks, like to many (rich kids...)

also, they way they talk. they say bro a lot. fratty kinda guys, ya know?

i donno, its just certain people
 
being from md there are a lot of them. they also enjoy taking double shots of bacardi. flavored bacardi..
 
we dont have lax bro's in caliall the kids who play it at our school are really lame and they pass around at breaks and look like idiots
 
oh we have the lax bros here in massive-two-shits. in the off season many undergo metamorphisis into smelly football bros.

I see those guys on other teams, but my old high school team was pretty legit. Me and two other skier dudes were captains so it was a lot of fun.

haha, people within the lacrosse community make fun of these tools also...just because you play lacrosse doesnt mean you are a lax bro. its a pretty gay stereotype though. basically lax bros are kids who play d1 and are just a little too into the status of it all.
 
ahaha i do know this one lax bro kid though, he got the warrior lacrosse logo tatood really big on his leg...then he went to play for (shit i cant remember the school name) but it is sponsored by brine.

i see kids walking around with just lax shirts on, those really short ones I guess they're the jerseys. but it's like a belly shirt for a guy. really stupid.
 
Ive been playing lax for four years and have one of those traits: long hair. Plus I only have long hair during spring and then once I start summer league I shave my head.
