i was wondering if i can get away with a 169 ski in the park if i am 5' 10" about 150 pounds or should i go bigger such as something in the 170's or 180's..thanks for the help

dude im 6'2 and i had my mothership 172's center mounted and they were perfect in the park and a little short for BC. if ur using it for park then you're perfectly fine.

i mean its not strictly a park ski (should of said that before my bad) it guna be about a 90 percent park ski and the other 10 to ride around the mtn if that makes any diff

i dont know why but i disagree with these guys. i have non center mounted 1080's that are 181 and i think they are too long. for your height, i would not go bigger than 176 if they're center mounted but go for like 170

you would absolutely be able to get away with 169. my friend is 5'10" and he rides center mounted chronic 167's and says they're perfect for park and slightly short for all mtn and he rides like 90% park and 10% all mtn like you. so 169 should be just right i think

its all preference, I personally like a ski the same height as me for park. When you center mount the ski you just get that much more tail. I'd say go for 176.

I dunno, I'm about 6'4" and I ride about a 180 (in that general size area) and I think that it's kinda short, but the fact is they don't make alot of twins longer than that, and if they do it's usually a super stiff ski, and I'm really light. I would say you could go about a 170-180, cause you're only 150 pounds, and if sounds like you're just starting out, but I would demo different skis in different sizes if you could before buying.

He shouldnt, hes only been skiing 2 times. While he did a good job, better then most people, he should be on a 170. If he was on something at 180 he would just keep knockin his tips together, and he would have a harder time spinning.

the longer the skis the harder it is to spin. again. im 6'2 175lbs. and im getting a new park ski for next season and im shooting for the 172-176 range center mounted. why do you guys think longer is better i say go as short as you can without affecting performance.

it's not any harder to ski park on a longer ski thats mounted correctly. at 6'2 i wouldn't go any shorter then a 176 and that'd still be pretty lame.

if you're still growing I'd try for more around 175, but really whatever you want what's a few cm's here and there anyway.

i'm 5'10, 145 and i had 169 pes and they held up just fine. since you're light like i am, why bother with a long ski? you wont be able to butter or jib around with ease, and grabbing is gonna be fucked. theres no point. dont just do it because its the COOL thing these days..

Yeah I'm 6'0 and 141, and I ride 165 Trouble Makers. Very fun in the park for butters, spins and screwing around. If you're riding powder then go for something longer, but in my opinion, there's no real reason to go super long for park. More tail for big landings I guess, but you should be able to land those on a 165 anyway, haha.

You'd be fine also on anything in the 170 range, but if you can get some sort of crazy deal on 169, definently do it.

you speak of skis as if they're new haircuts on chicks. 'well it's kinda wack, but i'll get used to it!!'

no ,

how you flex a ski is dependant on how much you weigh. if you're a thin guy using a long ski, good luck buttering and landing comfortably

so heres my next question im lookin at some 168 volkl dogan's and im lookin at some scratch fs also in 168..what would be a better ski then for what im guna use it for 90 park 10 mtn

it's fine dude. i'd only suggest getting something a little bigger if you were planning on ripping the backcountry. a ski that comes up to your nose isn't going to set you back any when it comes to park riding. in fact, it'll just make it easier to butter around and jib.

my point exactly. like i said, a ski that comes up to your nose opposed to your height is not going to hurt you any

im 5'8" 155lbs and im getting 178 anthems...that should be perfect for me wouldnt it? or would that be a bit too long

they only think it would be to big for me bcuz im only skied a couple times but you are only 5'8" so it might be a bit big for you too

you'll be fine unless you take them into the powder. if this is the ski you already have, i'd stick with it, especially if your a beginner. i had to ski my old 1260s, which are 164, when i broke my usual skis and had to get them fixed. i found it really fun for spinning and buttering off rollers and just goofing around. if you are buying skis i would say go longer, but if you already have the 169s, keep those, you'll be fine.

naw i dont have the 168s but i might buy them if they werent to small for me thats why i asked everybody and if they are to small i was guna buy a bigger ski

well i rode 178 invaders...and they were fine...i guess im dumb. i answered my on question lol anthem is a wider invader so it should be fine thanks anyway man
