Ok so there seems to be plenty of talk/hate about idea, yeah dude etc. but I am unable to find any real mention of Seven Sunny Days or Lost and Found.

So, as the title suggests, can I get a review of either of these two please??!

MODS: Pleeeease don't banish this thread to Movie Trailers, debate IS needed here and noone posts there...

Thank you in advance!

lost and found was dope shit. that's all you need to know. If you've ever seen a TGR movie, you know what to expect

msp movie is great. prefered it to yeah dude and believe.

ingrid kills it as does sarah burke. McConkey does a 007 parody which is actually quite funny. Abma probably has the most footage and really throws down in the backcountry and he is in a pretty cool segment in india too (i hope there is more of this in the extra). Jon Olsson talks about what its like being one of the older guys in freestyle skiing. COlby west slays it and is pretty funny, TJ has some sick follow cam shots courtesy of colby west. Mike douglas has a really good helmet cam segment. Dumont has a very small whistler jump segment I think. Hugo isnt in the main movie but is supposed to have a segment in the extras. and there is the best base jumping footage (it really is fresh this time and better than previous msp movies; HD Footage.) Small sled jump section which is pretty good.

The only reason I have to buy MSP's movie is Jon. I might as well buy TGR's, because if I do, I'll have all the major movies produced this last year. I've never really like the vibe of TGR's movies anyways...

Rowen,

This is by no means a way to criticize your opinions. I may have only posted a few times, but I assure you I have been on newschoolers reading threads for a long time. I don't want to aggravate anybody because I know what that can turn to (ie. the "Jesus Christ MSP" thread).. I just have a couple of questions for you so I can understand what issues you have, and possibly how I could help solve them. Why buy a ski movie just because of one athlete? Why not buy a movie for all of the amazing skiing, time, and effort necessary to make a well done ski movie? I'm not sure if you were being sarcastic in the comment but it seems like you have something against the major ski production companies, or maybe just MSP.. I don't know.. It seems like you know exactly what you want to see in a ski movie... One of the things you have to notice is the bigger the production company, the larger audience the product appeals to. Two of the largest, if not the two largest ski movie production companies (at the exception of Warren Miller): TGR and MSP, both have television shows. I can't speak for TGR but I know that MSP was started like any new aspiring production company out there, with a camera and some ambition. Now they both have extremely good products, I haven't had the chance to see Lost and Found yet, but I definitely do want to see it and I will most likely buy it. All I am saying is don't buy a movie because of one skier, buy it because of how psyched everyone is about it, I haven't heard one bad thing about SSD yet. I don't think anybody should hold any kind of grudge against someone that loves the sport of skiing and made it into their career, and has done nothing but strengthened it. Everyone just needs to be positive and supportive towards all aspects of the sport, and everybody to do with it. I saw SSD for the second time tonight, and as a freeskier (which is what I am primarily), and not as someone that now works for msp, it made me extremely excited to ski and film this winter. A movie shouldn't be something you feel obligated to buy because of just one element in the movie, if you feel you need to buy a movie do it because you would like to support that company.

I went off on a bit of a tangent there, no exactly sure where I was going with it, but enjoy watching all the new movies.. I haven't seen one yet that has dissapointed me, nor should one ever dissapoint anyone. Just get stoked for the upcoming season.

Josh

2 questions:

1) What is Seth's segment like in TGR? Is it a full length song or just a few lines? The spine to front flip in the trailer looks awesome.

2) Does Jon slay big mountain in MSP or just jump?

Jon slays both big mountain and the park.

And sorry Rowan I forgot about the issue you had with your youtube account. I just started working for MSP, and I can tell you they are not assholes. They have a huge love for the sport, and thats what really counts in the end.

There isn't much feedback right now on SSD because there's only been a Whistler premiere and I think that's it. The premieres are going to start flowing real soon and then there should be more word, and hopefully moves will be getting out before long.

Expect some good things out of Hjorleifson.

All you east coasters:

Go see the TGR movie. Not only is it by far the sickest to date, Kye Peterson slays the Big mtn lines, and skis no park, but if you get to the right premier, they have the SICKEST band playing tha afterparties...

BANG CAMARO. check them out on myspace.

if your implying that tgr is outdated then your sooo right. i mean ian mac staightlining 50 degree 2' wide wide couloirs and seth frontflipping 100 feet on a huge alaskan face is like soooo old skool!

no dude, people who can actually ski like tgr. if you have nothing constructive to add, please refrain from speech.

thanks

TGR was great if you like TGR movies. Lots of gnarly lines and big mountain stuff. I was really impressed with Kye, he stepped it up.

Seth's section was maybe a minute or two long, but as usual it was ridiculous. However, so many other people stepped it up for that movie that his section wasn't really that noteworthy. Ian McIntosh totally destroyed it in the opening segment again--I don't think that guy's even human.

he's right though. most kids on NS love park, and aren't too stoked on watching an hour of big mountain, whereas the 12 year olds dads are more than happy to watch it, and can get amped on people "skiing"

area 51 was SO sick! I used to watch that movie so much. and for any one that hasn't seen it it has t-hall slaying when he was 14 in montana and mammoth

I agree

I feel so bad for ingrid haha,

McConkeys part was awesome, made me laugh,

TJ's part was really cool with colby following behind for sure,

I liked mike's helmet cam, and that he had a totaly diff song then everyone elts.

I thought the base jumping footage was awesome... I really want to try that now ahaha

I'd say seven sunny days was really awesome!

seeing it tomorrow in CB, excited after watching the clips of the week on MSP's site. I'm glad that they grabbed Jon, Tj, and Colby. I hope Hoji has a great seggy too, he slays

alright tgr is incredible i dont see how u guys think ian mac. and seth slaying huge lines is boring and outdated. the tangerine dream was one of the best movies i have ever seen and it got me into skiing. as for lost and found how was sage's segment? he is the most undrated skier in the industry
