Can broken nails heal DR NS

so, i was making my backyard setup, and all was good and well, but than i drove a hammer super hard into my thumbnail, and it cracked way back at the white half crescent part. will the entire nail just die, because that would suck?
oh, and i passed out. it hurt a whole damn much, and i took a header in my kitchen, so my nog hurts. and the jib is turning out shitty as well. bad day ns, bad day.
 
A new one will start to grow under it, eventually you will be able to peel the old nail away.
 
i took a hard shot on my thump playing lax last year, the pain was unbearable i felt like a pussy but i almost vomited. it turned black almost instantly, it eventually fell off after a month, and yes yours will fall off.

but they do grow back after a month or two its not really a huge deal, mine took a while to come back and you will probably want to keep it taped up from now until the time it grows back, because its going to be really sensitive.

the most fucked up part of mine though, it was throbbing really bad after the game so my dad heated up bent paper clip with a lighter after the game and shoved it thru my nail.
 
ha dude i like blacked out. it hurt way too damn much. i passed out over a broke nail.

and that the thing, will i be able to play lax with it (d-pole)
 
i feel ya man. ive had that happen, it hurts like a motherfucker. i didnt pass out, but i obviously didnt hit it as hard as you did... itll probably hurt the first week, then depending on ho bad you hit it, itll fall off and then gro back
 
your nail is going to turn black and blue and then eventually fall off. if you drove something metal into your hand you may want to go get it checked for tetanus unless you've had a booster in the last 10 years.
 
my toenails fall off every season from toebang. if you have blood under your nail shove a hot needle through the nail and let the blood out, instantly the pain leaves. and your nail will grow again just be patient itll look fucked for abotu 2 months

 
i don't think you will need to if your nail is cracked. but if you do light the needle first so it's sterile.
 
my big toenails fall off all the time cause of skiing and soccer. the nail stays on untail and new nail grows in under it and then the old nail will rip right off.

but definitely the worst part is the smell. if you don't clean it very often it will smell like pure cat shit
 
through the nail, but if its cracked you are probably fine, thats just to relieve pressure.

and you should be fine especially if you play dpole, you might get hit once or twice but its not like eunbearable pain it just hurts a little when it gets hit after its healing up.
 
werd, my girlfriend lost both big toe nails from shredding this season, they turned black (see picture), and eventually fell off a few months later. she just paints them so you cant really tell, but im sure you wont wanna paint your nails...

yeah it'll turn black and fall off and a new nail will come back in
i tore my toenail off on a diving board and it grew back fine
 
My nails used to get slammed in car doors all the time. It wil hurt like bitch, turn black and blue, fall off then it will grow back
 
i coulda swore i was watching like mythbusters or manswers or some show like that and it said it takes 6 months for a nail to fully grow back
 
hmm i broke off 3 of my fingernails last summer in a car door. the little stubs were all black and gross for a while but after like 4 months they looked pretty much normal
 
I closed my hand in a car door and lost my nail about 4 years ago. The nail ripped out all the way up to my first knuckle. Only like /14 of the nail grew back.
 
This thread is making me cringe. I shot a super powerful staple through my whole finger and out my nail. the nail cracked almost all the way. I didnt screw with it and it just grew out
 
i slammed my finger in a car door... thae nail fell off so i think yours probably will... and it took forever to grow fully back.... just keep it covered till it doesnt hurt
