Can ayone help with my 3's?

whenevr i wind up at the lip everything goes fine...but when i pop off to rotate i kind of fall back and usually end up face planting on the landing...can anyone help me out...i snowboard too if that would change much in explaining it
 
Im in no way experienced with spinning on a board but have you tried carving off the lip? That is what my friend that snowboards does.

i dont hate snowboarders i only ride with 1 other skier the rest r snowboarders but they dont come on to newschoolers and under "ski gabber" ask for tips on how to snowboard better

ok. So just turn your shoulder around about 270 degrees. Then spot your landing. Do this in the air. No wind up necessary.

thankyou for the respect...i can do a 360 method..not very gracefully and not all the time...i was just looking for some help with tweaking my execution and landing it a little more often then i can now...thanks for all those who give me respect cause im fairly new at this...it will help if you just keep your comments to yourself if you are pissed off at someone for trying to get better thanks
 
when ever i do that on skis, its usually because i dont pop enough, maybe thats our problem, but if its not that, maybe try spotting your landing as best possible. it could be that you freak otu if you dont see it and get into a wierd landing position
 
spinning on a board it is way easy to carve a little bit the throw a little bit downwards. i dont board anymore but i know how to so try carving a bit, and wait until your at the lip to throw your arm and look hard over your shoulder, and use your shoulders to get around. and i think you go wonky in the air after the pop becasue you pop to early and maybe catch the lip somehow.
 
Ummm....guys.... This person is talking about skiing unless I am mistaken. He said he ALSO snowboards, not that he is asking about snowboarding.

To help with your 3's:

The reason you are falling back is because when you go off the lip you are letting the projection of the lip of the jump dictate the angle of your body in the air. The steeper the jump, the more leaned back you would be. In order to fix this, you need to pop up AND forward. Before you start throwing your trick, you should be in the upright position. Your pop should change the angle of your body from the angle of the jump to the angle of the landing. Imagine throwing your sternum (sp?) forward a little bit in your pop, basically throw your chest up and forward. Then start your trick. If you spin too early you will just keep falling back and on the bigger jumps you will really get in trouble.

also just learn them consistently off small jumps, get your rotation down and then try it off something bigger.
 
do you spin them fs or bs cause its a different spin

fs..aproaching the lip be on your toeside then switch to your heel about halfway up of the lip throw your arm and look over your shoulder

BS.. actually they are very similar just bs is generally thrown off of toes and be sure to look over your shoulder till you spot your landing

Frontside threes are one of the most fun tricks. You can do them over a little bump and also on big jumps-they're cool. The nosegrab is a bit harder to stay in balance with than other grabs, as you don't have your left arm to stabilize the rotation. Once you get them dialed, try it 540 or 720-it's all the same, just spin a little faster. Now don't think too much about it-go and session with your friends!

1. Drop in fast and relaxed-apply pressure to the heel edge as you approach the kicker.

2. Pop off the tail and look over your leading shoulder-a tiny, little carve turn on the kicker helps.

3. Prepare to grab the nose with your front hand.

4. Catch the nose and twist your body frontside.

5. Try to stay vertical and just chill in this position. Boning out your back leg makes the rotation easier.

6. Chill some more.

7. Spotting the landing comes very late on this trick, so don't panic. 8. Get the board at the proper angle and land like an airplane.

k buddy why the hate, theres room on this site for boarders too, many of the people i hit park with are boarders, im shure its the same for many people out there, so you need to chill. As to the question of the thread iv watched some boarders and it looks like carving the lip helps

When I first learned 3s on a board I also would land on my face. It was usually do to underroating. So get low, get a good carve, keep turning your head and try to bite your ear and you should have it. It also might help to learn them on a 20 foot or bigger jump, so u have more airtime.
 
there have been people who have come here to ask boarding questions, and there isnt really anything roung with that, are you cona get the best feed back? no but who knows, and as for the whole skiins online comunity thing, there are people who ski and snow board, i am one of them, do i board well? no but i occational try for laughs

i hate snowboarders that cant snowboard and think skiing is gay. Its so stupid, one time i was in the park and this skier does like a 3 or a 5, with a grab, looked nice. This snowboarder, the kind that u can tell sucks and is just up for a couple days from a city or something, yells "skiing SUCKS!" or something, i guess he didnt realize i was behind him. I was like "what, how is skiing gay, i hate people like you that just hate one other things they dont know about" and then he starts to snowboard away, around the jump and falls. how gay.
 
^just want to point out that i dont think skiing is gay..about 85% of my friends skii and 25% of them are sicknasty
