Camping and Skiing Timberline

So a buddy and I are going to have a lil ski road trip and head out to Timberline. We were planning on camping for a week and a half to two weeks and going skiing each day.

So my question is, do you guys have any advice for camping in Oregon such as: Best campgrounds, What camping equipment is necessary, how much of a problem bears are or are not, common problems, weird laws, fun places to check out while there, or if you have done what we want please just tell us your experience as a whole.

Also we're planning on hiking Timberline because we were too late to buy end of season passes. Is this a good idea? is it possible? Is it illegal?

Literally any information is helpful. My buddy and I are both past Boy Scouts so we know how to camp decently well. Just fill in any info that a person not from the West Coast should know about Ski bumming for a few weeks in Oregon. Thanks for the help! Good Advice and Help gets +K!

When are you planning on going out? you should stay at the airstrip, thats where everyone ski bums it. its down by trillium lake, just look for all the jah park skiers in tall ts smokin piff, you cant miss it

We're leaving from Cincinnati this Friday Midnight or Early Saturday, but we're stopping in Denver first until Monday. So realistically we'd get there Tuesday.

When you get here hit me up with a pm. I'll take you out to the tline sidecountry and build a jump. You can definitely get in trouble for hiking the park with no pass. So if that is your plan be careful

Sick you are gonna have a good time, they just built the magic mile park i believe which is always super dialed. if you can still buy a spring pass do it, its cheaper than 2 day tickets. looks like you cant buy it online but you might be able to get one in person

We tried to get the spring pass. We called them up and asked about it, but we were a day late and the guy on the phone said we were SOL which was mad shitty.

Day tickets are like 40 something bucks.. If you really like building and hitting sidecountry stuff its pretty fun but it might be a little intimidating if you haven't done anything like that (hitting big jumps) you really tryna hit big jumps for 2 weeks? Better have lots of tricks lol

And you coukd try to hike the park.. It would just be weird because people will be lapping mile not hiking as well, hiking also sucks.. Worst thing that'll happen is park crew will notice and kick you out

If they catch you best case is they kick you out. I've heard plenty of people talk about being forced to pay the price of 2 tickets and get a year ban or the cops get called for trespassing. Not a fun time at all

Tickets are on sale right now for 45 bucks.

Tline isn't going to get you with trespassing and call the cops unless you manage to be absolute dicks to someone and piss them off but if you're just hiking the park (not riding the lifts and not using someone else's pass) they probably will just kick you out. If you're not riding lifts Its not even theft of service it's just a liability issue. They might make you buy a day ticket but I doubt it. It's happened to me before in the summer lol.

All the stories of people getting screwed over at tline probably are related to people riding stormin normin with a pass that isn't theirs.
