CAMP OF CHAMPIONS RIPPED ME OFF!!!!!!!!

OK... I made the call that the thread creator could not, for unknown reasons.

MICHAEL D****NG HAS NOW BEEN REFUNDED IN FULL INCLUDING THE DEPOSIT

It took ONE phone call to get that done.

Camp of Champions apologized profusely and then went on to thank me for letting them know of the problem. They changed servers recently and their email is a "mess ever since".

Please do not make call out threads unless you have absolutely exhausted your options and are prepared to state the facts. Reputable organizations who have 10's of thousand of satsfied clients do not deserve this kind of crap. Especially ones related to the snow.

I can hear you haters now and see the next posts.. You will write: "Oh yeah, sure they refunded it cause, you called. They were going to rip that kid off if they could." Remember, karma is a bitch. Don't do it!

im with papa/granpa on this one. so what the kid said he called. that doesnt mean anything if they didnt pick up. this thread should then have been titled "does anyone have COC's phone number?"
glad to see things worked out but come on, this kid was just pissed off for no reason.
 
Well yeah that makes sense. I just wanted to see CoC come on here and try to clear it up for the sake of their own image on here.
 
Ryno, you know I love ya buddy. But how the hell were they going to clear it up, when this kid made this thread and then ran off? He didn't provide any personal information. Sorry, its a pet peeve of mine, Inflammatory threads with no back up, irritate the hell out of me :P
 
To Mike_D, I apologize for the challenges you have had with getting your cancellation refunded. We do our best to ensure we provide campers with a positive experience on all levels with the Camp of Champions, but we obviously failed to do so in your case.

We are still digging through a number of emails and cleaning up after camp, but thought we had gotten on top of all of our critical issues. This summer we had a number of cancellations for various reasons (injury, did not make thier grades, etc.), with no issues. This was a unique and honest mistake with no ill motives.

To Papasteeze, thank you you for bringing this thread and issue to our attention and for helping us resolve the situation for Mike_D.

Ken, Graeme and the Camp of Champions Team.

 
eh what do you know ryno, i guess they listened, great to see this issue resolved after following it for a while...people your worries of CoC can be laid to rest, its seems like they did there best to solve the problem once they found it....well done Rob

WTF hahahaha I am not satisfied that the thread creator felt that it was necesary to create this thread rather than pick up the phone and call during thier business hours, nor has he checked in on this thread.

Calling out COC was more important to him than actually getting his money back, IMO of course!
 
good point. if you play your cards right on the phone, they may just opt to give you some sort of deal for next year. At least I would hope they'd do that.

Yo, so, I dont know if its a coincidence or they saw this thread, but I have FINALLY received my refund from COC. I was gone for a few days so didnt keep an eye on this thread then got the refund confirmation in my email. Thanks all yall who helped and thanks to COC for straightening it out, no offense towards their good name, it was clearly a simple screwup and I got a lil impatient. PEACE
 
ken achenbach is a huge douche so its not that surprising they would do it. Windells should step up and offer you a free sesh since theyre so much superior to the bullshit that goes on at COC.

c'mon, let him off easy. The kid was pissed that COC didnt send him his refund. I think you would be too if you had no connections to a camp and could never get a hold of them. I would be too.

Im just glad everything worked out in the end.
 
no way screw the OP if he's gona come back here and not even read the thread screw him. I don't belive anything he even said in his first post now, probably sent them a couple unrelated emails, called at 2am, shit like that. he's obviously very unresourceful and I'm sure next time he gets screwed he'll just lie down and take it.

 
On my personnal experience, Ken AChenback is just as far from being a douche as you can be, the man hooks his campers as much as he can and he's uber chill.

Unless you've had really bad experiences with him directly I wouldsay that call was totally unnecessary.

I wasnt paid back over 2000 dollars for weeks after BEING TOLD IT WOULD HAPPEN RIGHT AWAY, called DURING BUSINESS HOURS 5 times, LEFT MESSAGES EACH TIME, NEVER TO HAVE THEM RETURNED, what the fuck else was I supposed to do? And Ive been out of town until I just got back yesterday and made that post, so fuck everyone bitching that I stopped responding in my own thread or whatever the fuck y'all are so butt hurt about. Thanks to all the peeps who actually TRIED TO HELP, and to CAMP OF CHAMPIONS for straightening their shit out.  This thread is over, but for everyone who's butt still hurts about something, feel free to keep posting in here and bitching about it.

 
The COC NS account has been here since October 10th 2007 and only 4 post. You gotta get someone a full time job posting on NS.

This whole thing was pretty funny, especially when some of you had to get all high and mighty... But if I was in the same situation, I would be fucking pissed off, too. Granted, it wouldn't be 2-3 months till I got through to get my money back- calls every hour, letterbombs (sarcasm?), dead animals (sarcasm?), etc. Then again, he said he was gone, and I know how that shit is. Frankly, I wouldn't give two fucks if the email system was different or if they were busy; 2+ grand not being refunded is pretty important, and it shouldn't take other members to help the situation. There was some negligence here, albeit a freak incident it seems. Good thing it is resolved.
 
what the HELL are you talking about? you helped solve the situation but youve managed to be a complete douche throughout. im pretty sure the kid said in the original post that he hated to call out COC but had not received his payment for too long. just because you happen to know the guys at COC does not mean he is being "lame" as you so eloquently put it by wanting his thousands of dollars back. he did all he could. where else would you have taken your problem if they refused to call you?

I read your stupid self gratifying explanation in the other thread about trying to help people out by playing devils advocate; you're full of shit. I don't know if you're dispositioned to automatically disbelieve posters who have bad experiences because of an innate disdain for the people who post here

or whether you feel obligated to defend the people financially responsible for keeping this site running. If it is the former, perhaps you should consider more appropriate uses for your time. If it is the latter just come out and say it. Just let people know, "In this age of the Internet we recognize the enormous influence of negative (or positive) publicity as posted on message boards and we have a stated or unstated agreement with our sponsors that in exchange for their financial contributions we will do our best to suppress or discourage negative comments against them". But whatever the reason just let people know.

even after he did the honourable thing and (finally) told them about this thread, he continued to make you out to be lame, when u had every right to be pissed (2 grand!), hey, coc appologised for screwing up in your case, then you thanked them for sorting it out it and its all sweet. I think i would have made a thread about it if this had happened to me - hey, it got to their attention (with the help of gramps), and it worked, u got ur money back, the ns forum helped you!

like someone already said, its in coc's best interest to keep an eye on the ns forum - the ns forum is unique, its where their whole market talks about stuff, stuff which they'd be interested in.
