I hate for it to come down to me posting this, but at this point I'm pretty pissed off.

Heres the story:

I signed up for COC camp D a few months ago, and on July 7, emailed the camp to tell them that I unfortunately had to cancel. This email was never returned, so I sent another, which was also not returned, until finally I called them on July 10 to confirm I would get my money back before the camp started in 2 days...I dont remember who I spoke with, but they confirmed I would be indeed getting my refund, "within a couple days". Of course, they never refunded my credit card. So I called to see what was going on. 5 TIMES! Not a single one of my phone calls has been returned in almost a month, and I have written them a NUMBER of emails as well, and have not heard from them for weeks. I decided to call my credit card company to dispute the charges, but unfortuneately, I paid the deposit over 2 months ago, which is the cutoff limit for disputing a charge, so I can only dispute the remaining $2000 or so. I obviously want all my money back, minus the cancellation insurance, although honestly at this point I dont think they deserve to keep any of my money. I am $2600 in the hole, all of which was paid myself with my hard earned money. COC seems to have a great reputation, which makes this all more hard to believe. I hate to call them out publicly like this, but they owe me thouasands of dollars which they promised would have been to me weeks ago and hasnt, and they havent returned a SINGLE one of my 5+ emails or calls. I am very disapointed, and was planning on taking a camp next summer, but that definitely wont be happening now. Anyone else have problems with COC? Maybe they can see this and get me my fucking money back already.
 
Well give it more than a couple weeks, i'm sure the crew there has been up to their necks in other issues and tasks so i wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet. As for not returning the calls and emails who knows, but dont let this get in the way of going next year, they're a sick camp and there was probaly a misunderstanding. You'll get your money back.
 
how do you know your card has even been charged?
it would make you look like a huge douche if they dont charge cards until camp begins now wouldnt it.
if they actually did charge your card, just give it time man. dont be a dick.
 
dude you bought a CoC camp week and didn't go, what made you cancel, must have been something serious
 
sooner or later a rep from COC or something will see this and it will all be worked out hopefully

I know because I am looking right now at my online banking and see the two seperate charges to CAMP OF CHAMPIONS. 

I dont mean to be a dick towards COC, just kinda frustrated cuz its been so long, and I got shit to pay for, and I also need to close my bank account, cuz I just opened another one, but I need to wait for the money to get transfered back onto the card thats tied to that account and bla bla bla. Ya hopefully either they see this, or get my money back asap, then I'll delete this shit
 
my dad works up in whistler and knows the owner ken and he says he very busy now becasue there closing down the camp and have to re-renovate the dorm that they stayed at id give it like 1-2 weeks if nothing changes then call them again or email them
 
orrr, hopefully they will feel bad and give me a free session for next year! haha, wink wink to the COC guy reading this 
 
Yeah, COC should step up to the plate now. They just lost credibility here with me. Sorry, about what happened, and it sucks we cant do much. I hope it gets resolved.
 
I always thought of COC as super legit so I hope they refund the money so people don't get the wrong ideas about them.
 
it'll get straightened out and i bet they do something for you in exchange, like a discount if you wanna go next year or somethin
 
there too legit to just let this slide...wait it out and if nothing happens within a month?

then id be flipping a bitch at that point...they will probably hook up a discount like said ^^
 
theres no excuse for a reason to be we're busy or backed up or hurrying, its money, and $2000 at that, people have shit to pay like rent and bills, who the fuck cares if they're busy. if its a credit card it shouldn't take more than one person spending less than 5 min on the comp sending back the payment or five damn minutes writing a check and putting it in an envelope
 
To the people saying "Oh they are just busy, just give it a few more weeks", you're retarded. They are a business and part of that is to help your customers if you ever want them coming back or not giving you a bad rep. This is more than two grand we are talking about, not a bit of pocket change to say the least. If you don't even respond to e-mails or calls over the span of about 20 days, that's horrible customer service. I hope this works out for you...

these companies need to be held legally liable for any wrong doings, and forums like this are the consumers main power
 
first:

When yourtalking big money or calling to get money back or buyingstuff, ALWAYS write the name of the people you are talkingtoo somewhere. Makes it easier for both parties.

Second:

Ialso think that COC is uber busy right now since most of their employee probably already leftand that they have to do a shit load of stuff with the dormsand everything.

third:

I'm sure they'll help you out, just keep on trying to contact them, dont be an ass when you get a hold of them and it should probably go smoothly.

The owner ispretty chill and I think he'll help you out on this.

just try to ahve information about when you contacted them before and try to remember who you talked to. It will help.
 
damn that sucks man make sure to keep us posted on what happens this shit shouldn't go unnoticed.

i was considering going to COC next year but if i find out this doesn't get unresolved PLUS them giving you a free sesh i am most definitely going to a different camp
 
what a fucking joke, they all be assholes. sue and shit, something like that needs to be handled id fucking be raged if they did that and confront them face to face to destroy.
 
Dude I feel bad for ya and it is definitely not legit for a company not to return your calls, I know how frustrating that is.

BUT: I had a look on the website and came across their clearly stated cancellation policy. It's now on 2009 dates but I guess it's the same as 08 and it quite clearly states that if you cancel after June 1st there is no refund available unless you bought the cancellation insurance.

If you did buy it then yes, COC are being massively unlegit. If you didn't then its your fault for not reading all the info on the site which is pretty clearly available and this thread is giving COC a totally undeserved bad rep...
 
dude that sucks. and for the people who are like o give it time, do you have credit cards? obviously not because if you did then you would know that you have to pay them off every month or you have to pay interest, and if i was paying interest, probably high interest, on $2600 that was supposed to be refunded i would be pissed. plus it is not good business.

but dude im telling you from experience no matter how obnoxious you feel coc is being, dont get pissed at them when you are talking to them, but let them know you are disappointed and upset. if you get pissed and yell and stuff...even tho you want to....they will react accordingly. and if you present yourself as calm but upset and disappointed they will be more willing to help you out, i mean they should be anyway, but they might be more willing to give you a deal for next year. if you present it like you have ever only heard good things about them and you were looking forward to it, but life happens and stuff came up and you needed to cancel and you thought that they would be understanding and helpful but that they have not lived up to what you have heard about them and stuff they should want to rectify the situation for you. i know its hard to stay calm when your pissed, but you will get a lot further and better results if you do.
 
thats a very real possibilty.

I went to camp, and halfway through i got pretty sick with a sinus infection.

i bought cancellation insurance, so i called them and said, hey i didnt get to ski just like pay me back a little bit blah blah... they said no but said next year i can ski for 3 days for free, which is good.

so basically im going back next year
 
someone i know has had a problem with coc before and it was dealt within 2 days and the solution was really legit (3 free days of camp), so . and yeah they are pretty busy right now, theres always issues going on at coc, soo just give it some time, hopefully someone will return your calls and youll get your money back.
 
Hmm thats odd. I think it will come though, my friend broke his elbow and arm while he was there and was signed up for the 8 day camp but he broke it on the 5 day so they refunded about 1000$ bucks, it took a few weeks to do so. Idk, i bet theyll be legit about it.
 
He has every right to be pissed off. He is dealing with 2.5k+ in cash, not some pocket change, if i want my money back and the company that owes it to me is being shady I would def be pissed. He clearly has tried to contact them multiple times, sent many emails, and his problem has gone no where. When your dealing with money, its serious business.
