Camp of Champions or High North?

Just wondering which camp is better overall. One thread I found from a few years back was asking the same question; more people seemed to think High North was the way to go, however, I thought things may have changed since then. Any helpful advice appreciated

COC is getting a whole new lane, they will probably have the best park on the mountain this year.

High North is more skier oriented. COC is more of a snowboard camp. From what i've seen from the lift they both have kick ass parks. Momentum has all my favorite pro coaches though plus a kick ass wallride. Sarah Burke, Josh Bibby, TJ, Dumont, Bushfield and some others. But its also the steepest lane on the glacier so no multiple jump hits in a row unless you count the learning 5 foot one up top. COC and HN both kick ass too though. Basically any camp you go to will kick ass. Out of the two i'd got to HN.

COC has more features, probably a better park overall. but HN has great coaches, is totally skier oriented, and has such a great vibe. its really a more fun camp. i did a year at both and had more fun at HN even though the park is a little smaller.

Momemtum has the sick wallride + TJ and Bibby as kick ass coaches. But its the steepest lane on the glacier so less room and no multiple jump hits in a run. It's right next to the rope tow though.

high norht is the way to go there park is going to be so nice they should have a halfpipe and a quaterpipe after the 25 footers and bishop said they might have a table for every 10 feet so its a no bigger that 10 foot set up to the next table

i think i could POSSIBLY go to high north next year...me and my bro...it would so amazing! but i would pick high north over coc just because it is more skier oriented

Well COC's park is way, WAY bigger than HN, plus they have a half pipe. I don't care about mixing skiers and snowboarders, I just go to have a good time and rip a good park.

I counted about 20 features in HN pics and about 40 in COC's. Thats an easy call for me.

High North is the first freeride camp on the glacier. It has a huge park, meticulously maintained by the hardest working crew on that glacier, the Diggaz, headed by Doug Bishop. No other groupd can touch the experience and dedication of the crew. The coaching line-up is amazing, with a smaller coach to camper ratio than any other camp up there. Great food, the only full-service grill on the glacier, great accomadations and sick afternoon activities. Oh yeah, did I mention you can waterramp more than just once like other camps?

Adding to that the fact that HN has the biggest and smoothest big air jump on the glacier, and enough snow to bring back the legendary 20ft+ quarterpipe, the facts plain to see.

dis/advantages: (from experience and what ive read/heard)

High north:

+ less campers per session= more hits/coaching

+ all inclusive, no dnner fees

+water ramps and trampoline

+ perfect setups and "the big jump"

+ only skiers,most progressive

- smaller lane then coc

-less feaures/ rails

+more freedom

+costs less per day then other camps

coc:

+ biggest lane, really open

+many different features, lots of options

+ more people equals more friends!

+ have own lift (somewhat)

- set up for boarders too

-more ppl per session

-less coaching

-diner fees

-costs more overall

it just depends on what u want

that does look soooooo sick. unbelievably sick. BUT having a bunch or ppl hit them may decrease there perfectness. although coc does have a bigger lane this year so degraded features may not be a problem. the other thing is HN has such a family feeling to it. most people know everyone by the end of the session and the coaches are soooo chill and nice. I do kinda want to go to coc next summer though.

at coc usually like 75% of the kids there won't hit the big jumps so I think they should stay in pretty good shape.

ive heard coc is a lot more chill than hn maybe cause of the lack of coaches per person or i hn better for one on one coaching even if it is more straight to the point, and such, hope that even made sense, also is hn more for expierenced riders and such than coc like feature-wise, conditions, coaching, and the other riders
