mostly, I'm sure you guys are pretty chill.

but when you walk around the village and act like you own the place, it's not cool. i don't really give a shit how much you paid to be here, this is not your town. we welcome you to come and visit, but when you come into stores and shops and even walk around town and act like dicks, you give everyone a bad name.

i understand you guys are stoked to be here, but seriously, sometimes its worse in the summer than in the busiest time in winter with you guys here.

just a reminder.

treat our town with respect, and we'll treat you with respect.

 
sorry dude, there is wayyyy too much alcohol in the village for anyone to act any kind of normal.
unless you mean the cocky ass 12 year olds though.
 
i just mean the kids who walk around at 4 in the afternoon and just make shit difficult for everyone. i'm way to drunk at this moment to actually come up with a proper answer so post while you can cause im suer this will get deleted.

but again. just respect our town.

 
i hear you dude. going into stores and touching/movin everything, being loud and shit but not buying and asking questions about products... being kids with out parental supervision basically. i get the whole "respect locals" and all, i feel the same way about my home hill. but they are just kids being kids
 
its not even so much the moving shit etc in stores that i mind cause, thats our job right? but the attitude and disrespect toward the town and the locals sometimes is astonishing. i know how kids act, fuck, im barely out of being a kid myself, but maybe a little humility is what some kids need to try and attain when visiting somewhere else.
 
Nick, i am a kid myself..... they act like they own the skatepark and the dirt jumps also. its like they think the village and the area around it is thier camp grounds...... they will learn eventualy, i can see at least one of them getting thier asses kicked this summer.
 
there all little rich american kids casueing shit.. i remember back in the day in like 03 i saw some american kids walking around on canada day, wrapped in american flags screaming canada sucked and americas better singing there national anthem and trying to fight people...

its fukin gay, respect whistler . dont trash the place and be nice to people and you will get the respect back
 
wow thats gay, i remember when i was in mexico a couple years ago there were canadian college students and american college students. the american students started talking shit about canada and saying how they suck and they are such fags, just like prancing around yelling it. then the canadians started talking shit, so the big tough guy americans challenged them to a volleyball game and got beat by the canadians, so me and my AMERICAN friends joined the canadians in the shit talking and the tough guy college students just walked away. it was sweet.
i may be american but every time ive been to canada ive liked it alot better.
ive been to camp in whistler 3 time and ive never seen kids being disrespectful, ive seen the occasional dousche bag just thinking they are the shit, but ive never seen them disrespecting other people. i dont doubt that it happens though.
 
I know what you mean. I work in a resort town at a high end resort so i ALWAYS see the kids with no respect at all. They are so used to their parents fixing everything for them and getting what ever they want so they feel like everyone should bow down and worship them. It pisses me off to no end when i see a cocky 16 year old kid roll up in a range rover to go stay in his 1,600 a night hotel room with a friend for 2 weeks on his parents money and treat everyone who works there like dirt the whole time. Im sure this is the same kind of kid who is doing the stupid shit in whistler.
 
dont blame america. blame the retards that are born in america, somehow survive long enough to reproduce retard offspring that go to whistler with their parent's money to act retarded.

It's people like them that give all of us campers a bad name...it's not like EVERY camper is a dick and trashes the town.

im pretty sure that whistler makes lots of money from the camp kids and thats just the way it is. your lucky enough to live there so just enjoy it.
 
uh what are you talking about? i dont see these kids disrespecting people? whats an example? do they just go up to people like "fuck you?"

for the most part, camp kids are little poser steezeballs with nothing to do but look at everyone cooler than them and spend money. where's the disrespect in that?
 
its kind of the same deal with tourists where i live, they walk around like people don't live their lives here and it sucks, but still...like papasteeze said, you have to suck it up because their money is what allows you to live in such a great place.
 
yeah they do, most definitely.

I've lived up there the past school year and I can say that I've been jokingly harassed for being American quite a bit, so it's not a big deal, but they do make fun of us. Not quite as angry about it as some Euros are though.
