i will murda yo ass slizut, camp helps this industry go around and pays bill for the selected few coaches. Allows a place for people to ski, and allows little kiddies liek you to meet their favorite pro athletes, and actually socialize with them. Its a big part of skiing, think before you try and act cool.

i agree with you guys that it is better and more effecient to rent the condo and ski all summer, shit i would do that in a second if i had the oppurtunity and time with my job. But, camp is more set up better, u don't have to worry about shit, everything is taken care of. in my opinion camp is for kids like me who live in CT and can't get out to whistler and hood etc.. all the time. I don't know anyone to crash with, so what am I going to do, be a little herb and be like ' Hi Dude, my name is Pat, think I can ski and stay with ya' especially when my skill level sucks. So camp may be a huge waste of money, and yes some kids may lick the balls of some pros, but in the long run, its fucking skiing, and skiing is skiing period, u guys get so pissed, i find it funny

I was resgistered for COC this summer but I have scoliosis and had to get a bunch of surgeries a couple years ago after a bad fall and shit... blah blah you know compessed vertebraes ect... and I reinjured it just recently and can't ski.

i dont really think it's fair to say that you dislike the people that idn't have to pay for their camp, because we might have had to sacrifice other things too...and i dunno why but i highly doubt you could rent a condo for the entire summer and ski on $1,200...which is what i paid..stop bitching and let us start progressing god damn.

Right on linechick and lineboarder - value scales. Why slag on these guys who value the money they pay for the product that camp offers? That is the same as slagging on someone who pays for top end skis, or a nice resaurant. Sure, the money would go further another way, but its not going to get you the same thing.

And linechick is right - $1200 will last you not so very long here with Rent, Tickets, Food and the other things that camps provide with you for that money. Lineboarder has it right too in that the camps' value is also in the intangible things like sking with a pro or getting good coaching and learning new tricks, or simply being a part of a group on an easy socail level.

So why all the angst?

yeah its not my fault my parents are willing to pay, i just got lucky. My family actually isnt rich at all, its just my dad is so into skiing (i actually think he loves it more than i do, he's 47 and hucks himself off 25 footers at whisler and i taught him 3's this year) So my dad supports my love for skiing willingly, so i guess im just really really lucky.

100$ whistler summer pass, 600$ summers lodging, 350$ plane ticket, and romin is 1.00$ for a 50 pack..... for a little over a grand you can stay at whistler and ride every day without going to a camp. 360 spin you know nothing, i did it last year with 1,200$ less then 1 week of any respectable camp,,,,,,,,,,silly faggot

Hmm - spring passes are around $100 CND, but straigt summer passes are $299 for all age categories. They only go on Sale June 1st to begin with, so you can't buy them a month in advance.
