Cameras, what do you do with them while skiing?

Hello everyone, I know alot of you people film yourselves skiing and stuff and I was wondering what you do when you are skiing but dont want to film. I dont want to leave my camera in the lodge so it doesnt get stolen (even if it is hidden, what if someone just opens my bag and sees it?) but I also dont want to take it with me and have it break if I fall on a rail or something...

What do you guys all do? I was htinking there might be lockers or something I just always missed... I dont know.

at mammoth some of the guys in the lift shacks (the ones at the top or bottom) are cool with you leaving your bag in there for a hour or 2.

all last year i just put it in my camera case then put it in my backpack with some other stuff when i wasn't filming, and when im in the park i just hide it in some trees or bushes where i can keep an eye on it becuase i ussually just hike (my park is tiny ass) and when i leave i just take it back again. works great for me

ya locker, but most of the time i know if i'm gonna have a shooting day or just a skiing daay, on shooting days i'll pretty much jsut shoot and bring my camera with me the whole day

wel we used my friends camera, and we would film after warming up an d put it in his gbag that he had on top of the lockers

Just get to know the lifties enough so that you trust them with your stuff then leave it in the lift shack. That way you don't even have to stop skiing to drop it off or pick it up. The same thing works with the park crew.

lift shack, or wear a heli pro pack, I do rails on that and it feels fine, it fits really close to your back.

toss it in your car when your not using it...or wear a back pack they aren't terrible if you get a Dakine bag you on't even know your riding with it

car, or lift shack........ or put it in a camera bag, then put it in your ski bag in the lodge, then zip it up...... dubble bag it........

wow...i just throw it in the underside pocket of my bag and store it in the lodge on the bag racks. or i get one of my lil cousins who likes to ski with us but dosnt do many tricks to just carry my bag around. its awesome

i had my camera in my chest pocket and took a gnarly fall off a rail and i landed on it, nothin happend to the camera but i took a nice gut shot, but yea usually i keep it in my backpack, but it kinda sucks skiing with a backpack

ive gotten so used to skiing with a large LowePro backpack with like 20 lbs of gear in it, i varely notice it anymore...but if i take a lap or two, i usually leave it with the lifties i know, or find a spot in the woods where ill ski by each lap to check it out

if you think about it, this world really sucks for the fact that you have to hide & lock up your stuff to prevent it from getting stolen. Even putting my stuff in my locker is risky, last year my brother went skiing with his school and his friend dropped the lock and it broke, so they just left the locker open at the end of the day, and I came up there the next day and my brand new shovel was gone.

The worst thing about that was that the people at the office wouldn't even lend my brother a lock, My Armada setup is worth $1,300 and my Line setup is $800, I'm just lucky no one stole that stuff.

the shitty part is the general lack of respect that people who steal have...there shouldnt be a concern for stolen skis or cameras...but i NEVER let my skis outve my site...its just a shame people actually steal others shit and can ruin someones day/season...fucking theives

get a few friends to ride with and trade each run...rotate the camera around so one person will film a park run and then the next lap a different person can film...

yea u realls ywish u could trust ppl, but sadly u cant. i was finished for the day so i went in the lodge, i took off my hat, floves, and goggles, i put the gloves in the hat, and put the goggles around the hat. i was sitting at that table like the whole time, we get ready t oleave, i get my stuff, and look, the hat and gloves are there, but no goggles. i was pissed. they were goggles my friend let me have and he gave me them not too long before that day. the only ppl io could think of that were in that area wsere sum girls, but i think they would take them. they were god goggles too. but i still put my cam in my bag though and just keave it in the lodge

i just set it at the top of the park, if someone takes it they will get a beatdown from everyone that rides the park.......
