I currently have a Canon Vixia HF M40 which was a good intro camera for me.

But now i am looking to setup to a DSLR.

I still have to sell my HF M40 but was wondering what is a good dslr for video, and for a person just starting to shoot video with dslr, also lens you would recommend!

id really think about this before getting into a DSRL, if your serious about filming with one your going to be spending 1000+ minimum for a good setup, but just starting off, id recommend a t2i + kit lens, maybe a t3i if you really want a flip on screen or a 60d if your more serious about taking photos too, but then your going to want a tripod/ glidecam, different lenses and more accessories so it adds up fast - so id just think about how serious you are about learning to use it and investing in your setup

If your not wanting photos i would think about the panasonic gh2. You can find a body for about 500, and you can get some old vintage lenses and a decent tripod that will get the job done for about 1400. Check out keh.com to find some old lenses good deals and great lenses
