Sup,

Looking to get back into filming due to being injured but i'm not up-to-date with current cameras, mics and lenses etc.

Any suggestions on what to get with regards to Camera, lenses, mount, microphones?

I have a medium price range nothing to expensive but nothing cheap that won't do the job.

Looking at around £500-£600 which is about $850. Thats just for the camera...

well how much do you have to spend for the other stuff then? be specific.... it'll only help.

Well i will start to get Mics, other lenses etc in the next few months after i have bought the camera, not straight away... i will be looking to spend in and around a medium price bracket for both. (I don't now how much microphones etc cost)

but what is a medium price bracket? it varies from person to person you know....

Well obviously , when i refer to a medium price bracket i mean for cameras on the market.

for example the top of the range could be $4000 and the lowest could be $1000 so i would be looking at $2000! (Thats is only an example)

But anyway, i bought a Canon 700d, should do they job for the short term.

Any ideas for Mics, Stabilisers other lenses besides the kits lens.

Mic- Want to get the most of my money... not sure of what mics come in it?

Stabilisers- Don't want to spend to much at all, just something that will me generally.

Lens- Open to suggestion... nothing $300 plus.

For a mic, buy a rode vmp and get a deadcat or windbuster for it.

If you don't want to spend much money on a stabilizer I don't know what price you're looking at as a max. If a glidecam is too much you could buy a Proam Autopilot, it's $189 on b&h.

As for lenses, there aren't many options under $300 that are going to be amazing. Because of this I'd recommend saving for a bigger budget so you could buy a tokina 11-16, a tamron 17-50 and maybe a 70-200 for some shots from further away.

If you need to stay at that budget you could get a Rokinon 8mm, canon 10-18 and a 50mm

Perfect, thanks!

Ye im going to save up for a better lens! I don't think i would spend more then £200 (Think thats about $300) on a stabiliser. How do you rate shoulder rigs, are they worth looking at?

Shoulder rigs arent that suitable for filming skiing and are pretty cumbersome. Look at other options.

Checkout flycam or glidegear for stabilizers. Cheaper versions of glidecam but a lot better than the chinese shit on amazon (opteka)

I would go for a Glidegear DNA 5050. 350 new, very comparable to the HD-2000

Im unsure which to go for Rode VM or the VMP? Anyone used any of these of both, is the VMP with the extra?

Both are good. Just depends how good you are in post with the audio as well. I use the VMP and have a few friends that use the VM

Not really used external mix as of yet so will need practice. I have the budget for a pro, is it worth the extra $$$?
