i know there are probably a billion threads about this.. but if anyone could help me out that would be great. im looking for a video camera for skiing that works well and is under 1000 dollars. i know the vx2100 and gl2 are prolly the best for mini dv, but im looking for something a little bit cheaper that will still work really well. I also want to be able to use fisheyes, etc. if anyone knows anything or where to look, please help me out. thanks.

i dont know anything about the new cameras i have an old ghetto hi-8 that we have used for like 2 years now i tried DV's and i dont think that they are any good for skiing cuase the ones i have used all break

uhh for skiing I think the GL2 is the best way to go. I only know stuff about high-grade cameras though. Sorry.

You can get the Panasonic PV-gs400 for about 1200 or 1300. If that's still out of your range then I would just check out some of the websites, www.camcorderinfo.com reviews a lot of consumer camcorders.

You could check out a used Sony trv900 or 950 on ebay. WIth a 900, especially, you could get it for about 800 or so, and it's a pretty solid 3CCD camera.
