I personally love Pentax, and Always have. only reason I ditched them and moved back to Canon was that they didn't have a DSLR that shoots video with the framerates I like until the K30 came out (no 60fps? ugh) and the K-x just wasn't working for me at the time.

I still shoot on lots of Pentax K mount glass and it's awesome... so in tribute, I give you this... Pentax's Full Frame Prototype... the K-1.

due to come out in 2001... as a 6mp full frame professional studio camera. Would have beat out Canon's 1Ds and Kodak's DSS Pro, but Pentax figured that the Phillips sensor was not what Pentax ultimately wanted, and would have cost way too much at the time to introduce.

They have been talking about a full frame camera introduction for the last 4 years... we'll see if the k-1 ever happens for real of if they just say 'fuck it' and stay with the k-5 to directly compete with the 7D and the D7k's of the world.
 
They seriously are fucking awesome... friend of mine has let me use his xpro-1 a whole bunch... and with a 35mm f1.4 lens on that thing? You have no reason to ever want anything else at that rate...

My only complaints really are the shitty focusing. AF is crap compared to more sophisticated setups, and the fly-by-wire manual lens focus is even worse... but ultimately, they are fun as fuck to shoot on and give you something that has that perfect old school meets new school feel to it..
 
That's why I'm holding off another year/generation before I upgrade to that. I don't think I'll be shooting a DSLR for another 18 months, if that.

The x100s' AF is BLAZING fast (they claim fastest on the market) because it has both contrast and phase detection.

If the X-Pro2 has similar AF, that's the cam I'll be buying.
 
I'd like to try out an x100s then... the x1pro was slow as fack and the manual focus was pisspoor with no hardstops.

 
My friend has his grandfathers in a glass cabinet. His dad won't let us use it for good reason. Worth a bloody fortune.
 
There is a good chance that particular one never went to the moon, the majority if the ones made never left the earth. Get learned
 
When I will get another Leica, I will buy another Leica so i can take pics of my Leica and post pictures on tumblr.

read the article about the guy who did this, he shoots some crazy stuff in the deserts and painted his lenses/body/flash to dissipate heat.
 
Such a brilliant system, the entire set was around 30-40K or something.Leica needs to revive the R-series again.
