Camera for filming skiing

This has probably been made but i couldnt really find anything. So I am just getting into filming and i need to know whats a decent camera for filming skiing? I dont want something exceptionally overpriced or anything, just something that will work well and to create good shots!

But if you aren't rich, a Gopro would work good
 
You're unlikely to get as good a response as you could get here in SG. You should ask M&A. But beware, they don't take kindly to noobs, you need to ask a good question.

Gopro's are not a bad option for just wanting to get out and film. Not my variation in terms of manual options, but without the case with something to stabilize it and a little shotgun mic you've got a pretty decent little camera for sub $500 bucks. The new 3 is pretty damn amazing for just being a little box.

Not the best camera to compair it with but the quality isn't shabby

Plus you can get into plug-ins and firmwear updates to really dial it in.

Anything else (unless your willing to try tapes) videocamera and dslr is going to be at least $800 used for a basic kit. Trying looking for old Cannon T2i, they've got to be relatively cheap by now. Plus, you can upgrade lenses on that to bump your quality.

nah not really. you can get a t2i body for around 400, and then a mediocre lens for around another 100. you can probably find a t2i with a tonika 11-16 (which is often regarded as the best t2i uwa for filming skiing) for 800.
 
Probably not for lapping the park and grabbing a couple of shots on the go, but if you look at some of the production that is going into ski movies these days, it's mind blowing the technology that is being used.
 
Thats pretty much the same as what I said give or take 200 dollars.

mean if your looking to get quality out of your purchase its a totally different ball game.

Honestly, you can have the best equipment in the industry but thats doesn't mean the record button is going to log your bangers for you.
 
There's a lot of pro's for the T2i vs. the T3i from what Im finding online with a quick search.

Pretty close price point. The articulating screen on the T3i is pretty convenient though.
 
T3i over t2i because flippity dippity screen. Get a cheap shktgun mic. A nifty 50 or tokina 11 16. And since price is an issue buy a cam caddie and save up for a glidecam
 
If your camera doesn't come with an army of mustached edwardian gentleman with hats then you are not playing the game.

yah if your comparing them with some of the more expensive competition.

People forget, if your shooting and primarily posting online in a 1280 X 720 format then your 4K mega cam isn't going to matter as much.

Id rather see a well shot and edited video on an VX, than a crap edit with someones ill handled expensive ass camera.
