Camera Advice

Whats up guys. I am looking to purchase a dslr camera.

I mainly want to shoot skiing (film and photos) and cars with an HD camera. My budget is around 500$ for a total package including lens, body, memory, batteries. Was also looking to drop some money on A stabilizer and maybe a mic.

I want to keep it relatively simple as I can use a camera somewhat well but most of my friends can't.

What would you recommend for a camera and lens?

Where should I look for the best deals?

Any good sites to learn about shooting?

Thanks guys!

Hey man,

Unfortunately, I think you will need to spend more than $500 to get everything you want. The cheapest dslr you can probably buy is a canon t3i which is still like $200-300, that doesn't leave you much money for a nice lens and a stabilizer. I'd say save up some more money so you have more options.

Yeah i figured something such as a t3i. Don't know too much about lenses. I guess thats where I need the most advice. What are the companies to go with and a pretty standard lens for filming skiing?

Idk if you're a creative diy kinda guy but when I was on a tight budget I made my own stabilizer out of aluminum pipe and broken scooters.

As for a camera, yeah get a canon rebel series or nikon 5xxx for cheap and buy a nice stabilized lens. You can always go to your local camera store and bug them, they will get you going down the right path too.

Best of luck dog.
