Camcorder help.

So i'm looking for a camera to shot mainly skiing. I'm kind of stuck between 2 at the moment and can't decide.

First is the Canon Hv30:

What I like about this cam is the 24p and 30p that it shoots. I heard it is super good compared to the Panasonic hdc-sd100 which is my other choice. The down side to the Hv30 is that is has many less features then the Panasonic.

Second Choice the Panasonic hdc sd100:

So please give me your 2 cents(if you know what you're talking about) in return for some karma.

The main problem with the SD100, is that the chips are only 1/6 of an inch. The HV30 has a 1/2.7 chip, over twice as big, thus the picture will be sharper, and perform better in low light. The resolution should be the same, but the pixel quality on the canon will be much better.
The SD100's "multi function ring" is a really great feature. The main problem i had with my hv20 was the shitty manual focus wheel, but the ring makes a big difference.
Both cameras are probably great. If you have any interest in 24p, the canon is for you, if you don't, then it doesn't really matter.
Just keep in mind that the HV30 is basically the best selling camcorder on the market right now, and it's for good reason. Nobody's heard of the SD100, and it's likely to disappear after a year and get replaced.
