Cam Riley and David Gravette Gnarliness

Gravette went 3 times and Cam 6 times I think, they're both fucking gnarly but Gravette's rail impresses me more because well, doing that many kinks on a round rail on a skateboard is just fucked, and probably because skateboarding > than any other extreme sport IMO
 
Cam's rail is 1000x more gnarly... His his velocity is soo much faster so many more injuries are possible of happening. The other guy's rail worse thing that is gonna happen is you get the wind knocked out of you or your nuts racked which happened. But chances are you won't have to worry about a broken kneecap or some shit if your leg flies into a support like LJ's.

It terms of what is more impressive? I dunno I never skateboarded so i can't measure the difficulty of that.
 
Didn't a boarder die on the dub kink? I feel like the skater's rail is more difficult and Cam's rail is a million times more sketchy/dangerous, I mean just look at how fucking fast he was going.
 
That's a tough one to judge. I think skateboarding takes more overall skill, so hitting a rail like that one one is extremely difficult, however the Breck double kink is big and a lot higher of consequence. I think Cam's closeout drop is definitely the sketchiest thing he's ever done though.
 
I was hoping they were both hitting the same rail, anyone have an example of that?

Dave's was a bit more cazy because that's a pretty fucking long rail for skateboarding, but I think it's awesome cam made it more then halfway down the double kink with a broken ski.
 
Gravette is insane. I don't know which video it was in or how I could ever find it but theres a skate video from like 2009 or something I think where he 5050s a 4 kink with an elbow in it. Its absolutely insane. Pretty sure its some older creature movie.

theyre both gnarly but that breck dub kink is huge and fast, and didnt someone die on it? way more potential for serious injury

You obviously have never skated before and therefore do not realize how hard it is to hit a handrail and therefore, you cannot talk shit about skateboarders not going big enough. You bitch
 
I'd say there both equal....it's hard to judge skating from a skiers view and to judge skiing from a skaters.........Like skating its so much easier to slip cause of your trucks on a round rail....whereas on skis you take on something much bigger.
 
I understand it's really hard but when I watch it, I don't think "wow that looks fucking cool". It's my view, stop worrying so much about what people think of your sport mr. soulskater
 
and I'd also like to say that watching him bitch and throw temper tantrums over minor falls made me hate watching skateboarding even more

well it was kind of implied that by saying Gravette was a bitch you were saying Cam was gnarlier...sorry if i was wrong about that

i mean the whole thread is about who's gnarlier, so when you come in here and make a post saying "skaters don't go big enough" etc. most people are gonna take it as you defending skiers, and in this case, Cam.

 
true, throwing temper tantrums is kinda stupid and Gravette went way too overboard with it, but it just goes to show how much frustration and time it takes to get a single shot and not get injured.
 
If you got 2 tickets, came back 3 times to one rail and tried it all day, you wouldn't once get frustrated to the point of yelling? What are you a buddhist monk? I think that anyone that his hitting a 4 kink rail on a skateboard for just maybe a 7 second clip max,they can scream as much as they want.
 
have you ever poured all of your focus and concentration into something you've never done before, then not been able to finish it? and paid physical consequences every time you didn't finish it? try doing something 100 times in a row and not losing your shit. granted everyone does it differently, but we all have our breaking point.
 
the comparison could have been better as others have said. should have used cam's 6 kink from grand bizarre. breck double kink is just pure danger
