Hey NS,

A while back he sold me a nikon d5000. Once I received the package, I noticed it was refurbished. He never said anything about this, and I also happen to notice a few cords missing that he said he would include. We then agreed that I would send the camera back and refund my money.

After he received the camera, he told me I would get my money back soon. It has been a very long time and he hasn't given me my money. Not only has he not given me the money, but he has stopped responding to my messages on facebook. At first he kept coming up with excuses, but now that he has stopped responding when he's clearly online I felt the need to make a callout. I have given him so much slack, but it has come to the point where I don't believe I will get the money by continually nagging him on my own.

I have done many transactions on NS, and I have never had to do this. Unfortunately this is the largest transaction I have made on here. I don't know how to go about this, should I get the mods involved to get my money back?

If any NS'ers wanna get involved or know this kid, his name is Benjamin Daniel Lauredant.

Any help would be very much appreciated,

thanks guys..yeah I've left him 4 inbox messages over the past couple weeks plus I've been trying to send him instant messeges or whatever you wanna call them, but no response. I think he put me on his offline list now because It shows him posting stuff, yet he still appears offline.

I'll try contacting his friends, and see if I get a response..

What official info of him do you have? Does he live with his parents? College?
 
hey guys just so you all know i have been trying to get him his money back. i have not been ignoring him in the slightest bit, money will most likely be transferred this week. its not the easiest thing to get something back in the mail and just sell it in a day. i even let him use it to see if he wanted to just let me keep the half of the price that he sent me. im not a bad person, just trying to work out a sticky situation.

He miraculously messages me back today after the help of you guys,

you that have just read his message, he hasn’t responded to my inbox messages

for a while even after seeing him be online. So yes, he has ignored me in the “slightest

way”.

Also, he didn’t agree to the “half price offer” as he wanted

more than that (around the original cost) because he said it was refurbished

and not a big deal.

And when he said, “its not the easiest thing to get

something back in the mail and just sell it in a day.” It’s been over 7 weeks…enough said about that.

Sorry to come off harsh, but the kid is just not saying

stuff how it is and I think it’s important you know that. He messaged me back and I may have the money

this week (who knows?). I’ll keep you

let me tell you why.... cuz every day im obviously trying to get the money, and he just says "dude i need the fuckin money" or "he man when u gettin the money" obviously if i had i'd tell him after u give the same response 5 times it gets aggrivating for both sides of the party
 
just and fyi..still haven't gotten my money yet. He says he's trying to get it...who know's that what he said about 9 weeks ago.
 
thanks guys...idk seems like he doesn't thinks there's much of an urgency in getting my money. He talked about borrowing some from his mom...but didn't follow through. I really need it soon, and I don't know why I haven't gotten it..it seems like this is going to go on for maybe a year until I forget about it (which I won't)
 
he basically told me his parents would be able to pay possibly awhile ago...so I set a deadline that I need the money by the end of this week because it has been over 10 weeks for sure. I will let you guys know if I don't receive the money by this week
 
i live within drivin distance of this kid, if he doesnt get you your money by the end of the week, or whatever deadline you decide on, my brother and I would be happy to pay him a visit

its all bullshit cuz if he wouldve done his part and told you it was refurbished in the first place you probably wouldnt have bought it and wouldnt have gone through any of this. hope you get your money and try looking up his address and get his home number and talk to his parents
 
Call his parents then get the local authorities involved in his area.

I hope this all works out for you man. It's shitty when someone in the community does something shitty like this.

no but seriously get that guy above to check this kid out and have a face to face talk with the kid. who knows, maybe it will help?
 
that is a fucking terrible reason to ignore messages from someone about you sending them the hundreds of dollars that you owe him, grow the fuck up.
 
Yeah you really should call his parents. If anything they should be able to help you out, if they don't and they are total dicks and you know what they are doing call their local police station maybe they will be able to help, it's worth a shot. They will also be more willing to help if when talking to the parents you have them on speaker phone and record the conversation with a camera or something. EVIDENCE.
 
also, good luck to getting your money back, in the future i would suggest buying from someone who has been around here longer and has some feedback, especially if youre spending a few hundred dollars on a dslr.
