Callout Ski companies: Ugly topsheets

Who are you letting design your shitty ass topsheets? Did you decide to doodle while you were sitting on your thumb? Or did you just use your thumb to design the topsheet? Shits weak. I'm actually embarassed for a couple of companies with what they release every year. Talk about bland. Step your fucking game up.

Couple companies that are doing it right - Icelantic. J skis. Line (pollards skis only)

I get it. Who cares about the topsheet as long as they perform. I call Bullshit. If you want a ski that sells and get people interested, design an appealing topsheet. If the ski performs, and you come out with an even sicker topsheet the next year, I'll probably buy the same ski again.

I challenge you ski company twats to design something that makes me look twice.
 
Many ski companies are more interested in the vast majority of skiers (aka recreational, 2- 3 weeks a year, older skiers) than the fairly small demographic that is free skiers/ riders.

Bland sells to a lot of people. Can't blame them for catering to that, it's not easy to make money selling skis.

and....praxis, 4frnt, liberty all have dope graphics (not all their skis, but most)

Oh well, you can have your options if you want your topsheet more presentable, or shall I say the one you preferred to have, you can have your skis be customized either. For sure you can have a ski or a topsheet rather that you probably like, and one of a kind.

You can actually buy after market "topsheets" online, basically just a really big durable sticker that goes over your skis. I personally think it's rather stupid but you can do it.

Or you can contact a small ski company (on3p, or one of the custom ski companies) and either use topsheets you like or design your own.

A lot of top sheets chip and ware away anyway, its not like you have to look at them for long. What's the average life of a park ski? 1 season? Maybe half a season? Maybe even less. I would be more focused on the other side of the ski.
 
Stupidest thread of the year....look at ski graphics 10 years ago. They are getting cooler over time. I kinda agree though not a fan of skiing on crazy graphics with all kinds of stuff going on...Would much rather have like all matte black skis or wooden colored skis

I agree with you OP. Sure performance is the number one thing to consider in every ski, but the fact of the matter is that nobody wants an ugly ski. I'm not going to buy your skis if they look like shit. I think manufacturers have been getting a lot better about this though. Skis that just have logos plastered all over them seem to be less and less common.

In my opinion the perfect top sheet is something like the 2009-2010 Line Chronic - a ski with minimal branding on the topsheet.

Gràfics are shit because companies insint on bringing out new ones every year(so some spoilt kid can jerk off to the *new* skis wich are no different to last year's) but they lack creativity to keep the new graphics cool.

salomon is the biggest culprit i can think of for gaper ass graphics. okay new topsheets guys, i think we should stick with some random gay splattering of our dumb logo in different sizes all over the ski. and throw in some random shapes and designs! that way it's cool
