On october 26th, sammyd23 and i agreed on a trade. My STH16 bindings for his full tilt hot doggers. i sent the bindings off the next day as he agreed to send the boots off soon as well. I didnt think twice because his feedback is excellent.

It has since been a week or so since he had recieved the bindings, and i still have nothing. He had claimed that his dad has passed away recently and the boots would be out soon. I understood his situation and cut him some slack. Since then he has promised to send them out on a couple of occasions. still nothing. And then he began to ignore my PMs.

By this time i am pretty irritated so i started to do some research on this kid. The name he had originally gave me was Samuel James. upon further inspection i find out that he isnt who he claims to be, his actual name is Samuel Distler.

A quick facebook search reveals that he is trying to sell the boots to another dude. Now here i sit without boots or bindings, with skis season quickly approaching, i am losing my patience.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

at first I was like: wow, your an asshole for calling him out...

then I was like: Oh, he is trying to sell the boots to someone else... ok, legit.

Question though. On facebook, did he post about selling them BEFORE you guys agreed to trade?

Also, hope this works out, losing a parent sucks, but its no excuse for stealing.
 
i have no idea. does it really matter though? He agreed to trade and said he would send em out multiple times.
 
also, you can see in the comments that he was trying to sell these 2 days ago, when we agreed to trade 3 weeks ago.
 
Yes it matters. If he posted something on Facebook before you guys traded, that is just fine. You should know that.

Second, its only been 2-1/2 weeks, and apparently, HIS DAD JUST FUCKING DIED.

I know exactly how shitty that is, its no fun at all. Give him a break till you know something for sure.

For example, between weekends and recent holidays, there were not very many actual business days, and it sounds like he is probably kinda busy.
 
I have no idea if he posted anything before we traded. Today i decided to search his ACTUAL name, the only thing that came up was a picture of the boots i had traded for, attempting to sell them to another.

Yeah i understand he may be going through a rough time, but now im starting to question that. Given i was provided with a false name and he is selling the boots elsewhere, i don't know what to believe.
 
The guy was trying to sell the boots 2 days ago - that pretty much confirms what he's up to. Search obits where he lives and for his last name - see if there happens to be one for his Dad - you can confirm if he's telling you the truth about anything.
 
Yea, that doesn't sounds good. You've got his first and last name - probably time to track down his # and touch base with his parent/s.
 
Havent been able to find his dad in any obituaries. Unless of course theres a different last name.

by the way OP, his phone number is on his facebook page...
