Calling the NS Doctor: Upper back pain...

One fateful September eve in 2008 I was real drunk and jumped in my basement and smashed my head into the ceiling full-force... don't ask why, I'm not really clear on that either. Since then I have been plagued with an annoying pain in my upper back (more specifically, my spine, lol). I have had this discomfort in my spine since the injury, and it varies depending on my level of activity (if I'm workin out it hurts quite a bit afterwards, and since I've been skiing these past few weeks it hurts pretty bad).

I went to the doc and he sent me off for an x-ray and told me to come back in 3 months to see if it got any worse (I don't like my new doctor, I tried explaining to him that I've had the problem for longer than 3 months and it hasn't gotten any better). In the x-ray they found a small bulge but he said it should be fine (idiot). I just want to be able to ski, work out, etc.... without the fear that I may have something terribly wrong with my back, has anyone experienced anything like this?

Sparknotes:

jumped and hit my head on a ceiling in september, started getting pain in my upper back / spine, hasn't gotten any better, gets worse when i'm active, doc says it isn't serious.

wow man, sounds like spinal compression. has your neck/upper back muscles become tighter after this ?

get a second opinion, bring the X ray so you don't have to take one again. See what the other doctor says since you are clearly not satisfied with the first guy

the sketchy thing was that he didn't even show me the x-ray, all he did was read an analysis of the x-ray written by some other doctor.

today i was hitting a smooth 25 footer at holiday valley and I cleared the landing/over-rotated and slammed pretty hard on the flat and i can DEFINITELY feel it in my back/neck lol.

a second opinion is definitely a good idea, I'm going to go to the sports therapist whom I'm pretty tight with and hopefully she'll give me a better idea of what is going on, and hopefully refer me to a specialist.
