I thought this deserved its own thread. They totally bombed and didn't do anything for the Anthony Head-to-toe contest.

No respect.
 
Wow, you be completely retarded. Decade is a ski shop in SLC, not a ski company. They don't MAKE things, they SELL them.

They cant get away with that, post a contest and then forget about.
 
They accidentally donated all the gear for the contest to the Salvation Army. There you have it, now don't you guys feel like total assholes?

Here's the deal with the Ant Contest.

The winner is:

The winning entry was chosen solely by Anthony, so if you thought yours was better, don't blame me.

I apologize for the delay in announcing this, but I just got the winning name back from Harvey at Freeskier yesterday. Even though the contest ended sometime ago, it took this long to announce the winner for several reasons.

1. Harvey had to e-mail me all the entries. This took longer than usual because he was all over the world getting stories for next year for you to all enjoy.

2. Anthony had to read ALL the entries, (there were nearly 1,000 of you who entered.) This also took longer than usual because as a pro skier, Anthony was also travelling the world making an insane segment for Poor Boyz for next year.

3. I had to send the winning entry back to Harvey so he could tell me the name/address of that person. This took a while again, for the same reason as above.

Congrats to Andrew, and thanks to everyone who entered. Next year we'll try to do the contest earlier in the year, probably starting in August for the first athlete.

^if you think it's weak, then call Anthony and tell him you don't like who he picked. If you want, give me your e-mail and I'll forward you his mail to me with his choice for the winning entry. The point to the contest was to let the athlete pick the winner. If we just picked the winner then we defeated the whole purpose. Also, if we wanted to just pick, we certainly wouldn't have let the contest keep going. We would have picked a winner a long time ago if that were the case.
 
Well someihng definatley doeesnt seem right about that, the first contest there was a whole new page for it saying who were the close runer-ups, and so on, to wait that long for a winner like that just sucks, maybe that my opinion bc i liked the idea of the contest
 
Thanks for the feedback man...I also think the contest is a good idea. We are putting together that same page for this site and freeskier.com to officially announce the winner, but since everyone seemed so pissed I thought I'd just let everyone know right now. As I said, I just got the winning name yesterday so I haven't had a chance to get the release out to everyone.

Any suggestions for next year? Do you guys not like the contest? Do you like it? Do you like that the pro picks the winner, or would you rather have it random? The feedback here will help determine if we do it again next year, and if we do it the same or change it up.

I personlly think the Pro should pick the winner, if he has the time to actually sit down and read each one, i liked the contest but i guess it could be done differently but i dont have any suggestions really

I also think the contest is a great Idea, just thought it was a little disorganized.

I think that all of the people who are complaining are spoiled little brats...

Since when do you bitch about a store GIVING away free product?!? Let alone a professional athlete taking time out of their day to read 1000 shitty stories.

fuck you all for being stupid.

Decade is a great store...most likely the coolest ski/snowboard in the Western U.S.
