Calling all midwesterners

If you guys are ever up in Northern Wisconsin around the Rice Lake area, you need to check out Christie Mountain, the tickets are around 40 bucks and they have super good food, I really like the community there and I love the parkk, even though I could be biased since I local there. Wouldn't recommend if you are into big jumps cuz we have 300 feet of vert. But the rails are the perfect size for fun jibby tricks and there's a fire pit and picnic table at the top of the park. Super fun place with good people.

trollhaugen is really fun too if you're looking for something bigger! but they are within 2 an hour and a half of eachother. deesnyyyyderr on instagram has a lot of clips from there if you scroll down too, or ropetowjunkies which is our kind of shared insta account if you want to get a little preview

I used to work at a summer camp by rice lake!

Christie is definitely a gem: great food, fun terrain for the size, and the park was actually mad fun when I went.

It's got very mom and pop vibes to it, by Midwest standards it is definitely upper tier, probably one of the best resorts I've ridden at in the Midwest in terms of value and fun. All around great place.

$40 for a 300 vert hill. Hmmm

The cost of skiing the midwest is getting ridiculous. Not sure about by you in Ohio(?) but this would be on the cheaper end in Michigan. Resorts in the northern lower peninsula are pulling Colorado prices no joke.

Nah Ohio is absurd as well. If I even go skiing here's it's for a day or two just to get my fix in if I don't have time to travel. One place is now owned by vail so it's on the epic pass but I'll pass on that pass

woulda been like 2-3 years ago, later in the winter but not quiet spring. probably around February or March. Park had a full set and was pretty fun, up at the top had some fun jibs and a couple fun natty hits. The cheese curds were pretty bangin too

Spring skiing there is the best now cuz people bring in like hot dogs and burgers and big cases of mountain dew and it's just its own vibe.

Agreed. If any of these places had faster lifts it might be better. I spend 95% of my time on the chair lol

For sure, it's cool to know we got a ski hill down there. As far as northwest WI goes you pretty much got mont du lac, drive to MN or drive to washburn and ski mount ashwabay. Spirits rope park is so fun but you can't beat skiing a smaller hill sometimes.
