Call your drops

ive noticed that in the last 3 years that people have totally stopped calling their drops. its driving me crazy. at my resort its only me and my crew that calls now. and when we do everyone looks at us like we are crazy. or they just ignore it. what is the situation at your resort?
 
yea the other day i called a drop because i was sick of people cutting me off and it seemed like everyone was completely clueless of what i was saying
 
Sometimes you just need to educate people. They may be resentful but who cares. Better than crashing into someone.
 
yea dude im all for calling drops...but what i hate are the little 12 year olds who are like dropping next, dropping after him, dropping after him and so on for lirk 6 people...thats freaking annoying! its like no call it and go...
 
ya I know what you mean, especially when there are like 30 kids at the top, 20 of them who are snowboarders that sit there on their asses forever and gradually creep down the hill until they finally take the initiative. Nowadays its all about the mind games, when you commit you just have to stick with it otherwise you go and then stop and then go its a pain in the ass.
 
fuck waiting in line to call drops, I just plow through and don't waste time.
 
word, if you don't stop, you don't get in anyone's way, and you aren't around long enough for anyone to give you a piece of their mind. just do what you gotta do and get outta the n00bs' way.
 
i never call drop. i just go when it looks clear. if its not clear and i have the chance to cut off the person, i take it and hit the jump or whatever
 
its fucking annoying when people dont. its not too bad at my mountain though. actually, it fucking sucks when ski school decide to take their kids through the park. they rock up straight to the front of the queue then the insturctor thinks he has the authority to hold everyone else up while he lets his 20 kids crawl up to the jump and flop off the lip or go off the side of the jump.

I also hate it when n00bs cut diagonally across the drop in without looking, right as you're about to hit them, forcing you to abort mission. who the fuck let them into the park anyway?!
 
seriuosly its soooooo gay. then they cuz u off and dont even hit the jump/rail

fuck stupid ppl with no commen sense if you call your drop and they cut you off just smash into them. all my anger is out now:)
 
haha thats what i do now. at PC there is almost always a line up t the top of the park. if you actully sit there and wait you will be there for close to 15 or 20 minutes. people are always so hesitant up top. you just need to go
 
people just look at one another at my place, and whoever wants to go just goes...its like a mutual thing that involves no talking just eye contact and hand gestures. its cool, no one cuts others off
 
I do at my mtn. if it's needed. A lot of other people do too. Or some people just get hella speed and ride up and yell their drop as they are coming, I don't really have a problem with that, especially cause those are usually the people throwing down.
 
i agree. it pisses me off, so to solve it, all the people i shred with and i overly call our drops. when were dropping, we continuously shout 'drop' in an obnoxious manner, but at least people know were going, and maybe will get the message. we even call drops on rail jams.

im thinking the name of whatever footage we compile at the end of the season is actually gonna be called "DROP!"
 
noobs need to learn too, Educated them, I always call my drop, I also dont snake newbies/noobs because they have a right to the park. Remember every one of us were newbies at one time. Respect them, educated them.
 
What you do is just lap as fast as you can. There are so many positives. You eliminate time for your brain to make up crazy superstitions and you get more laps and probably learn more. Best thing to do.
 
This is what park passes for the big park are for. Also, on the chair up to the park, there are signs that say "call your drop". It seems to work pretty well.

unless its the pipe, then maybe chill out and get on peoples asses for snaking.
 
I hate when little kids cut you off from the side and then just go off the side of the rail or ride over the lip of the jump. That shit pisses me off.

i dont understand why people sit there. I get so pissed when someones sitting in the middle and I say "are u gonna go" and they say no im just waiting...like wait somewhere else then. I honestly say shit to kids like every other run on homerun because no one ever goes.
 
I always call drop unless im the only one thats going to hit something...maks me feel better that i warned people that im brapin
 
at my mountain people are actually really chill about this. there just like go ahead. or mind if i go? or something like that. not DROP, DROP NEXTTT and all that bull

i hate when there is like 20 people just waiting to hit a jump so i just call drop and start to go and then a snowboarder just decides to go and cut me off at like half the speed
 
i fucking kow what you mean man. Its ridiculous at my mountain, there will be like 13 snowboarders sitting at the top and ill be standing there waiting an no one goes, the snowboarders just sit there for fucking like 10min and do nothing. I will go do the rail, hike back up, do it again, hike back uo, do it again and so on and all the snowboarders will still be sitting there and none of them have gone yet. fucking wierd.
 
i use to but know i've stopped. I dont know why but i crazy when people don't. Maybe i should start calling drops again seems a good idea.
 
Yeah, the worsT is getting cut off by someone, so you skip the jump/rail. Then they just launch off the side at 2mph. One of the mountains around here just got a park pass, and has a written rule that you will get your pass clipped if you go off the side of a rail take off, but they never enforce it. I think that is a really good idea, and will teach idiot bitches a lesson, but it just needs to get inforced. As for calling drops, it usually isn't too necessary here, but sometimes when the little kids are doing it, i'll be like "GOING NEXT AFTER THE GUY IN THE GREEN JACKET SO NO ONE GO CUZ IM GOING AFTER HIM AND IT'S MY TURN!!!!"
 
the worst is when someone goes before you, so then you wait for them to go, and you look and they didn't even hit the feature......but what ever. I just walk it out.
