This kid had an itouch 2nd gen 16gb that he was selling for pretty good price. He didn't have much post/karma/no feedback, but he did put his name of the pictures he took which made me think he was legit. I pay $70 for the itouch and he said he'll send me a tracking # the following Tuesday. That was about a week ago. And about a few days ago st0k3d posted "when are you shipping the ipod"So basically this guy had two buyers, mine for 70 and his for 90, took both of our cash through paypal and hasn't logged on since October 13.

Wondering if anyone knows this kids and let me know whats up. He has to have to have the itouch cause his names on the pictures, so this doesn't make much sense to me. But imma try to get my cash back through paypal, but haven't done this process before. Can anyone tell me a quick list of what things i need to do for this?

so i just realized in order to send him the full $70 i kindly sent it as a gift, so now i can't file a paypal claim cause it needs to be under a purchase good or item. F***...
 
so i should tape my fingers crossed when i go to bed tonight?

haha, but yea i know i didn't know about the gift not being able to report a problem.But i just sent him an email, his paypal email so maybe he'll reply to that
 
Put this in Toronto regionals... you might have better luck, but you'll have to have like a $50 reward IMO.
 
oh shit you sent it as a gift, that sucks. I got scammed by him too but i sent it as a payment for an item so hopefully ill get the money back.
 
hey man, i live in toronto, and while i can't garuntee anything will be made out of the situation, i'll do what i can to help. I sent the kid the following email regarding the alleged issue, hopefully it is resolved and further action doesn't need to be taken.

just so you know, there is a callout thread for you right now on the sell/trade forum. You allegedly charged two people for the same ipod and haven't sent it to either of them, I don't know the details but from the sound of this it doesn't bode well for your reputation on newschoolers. As I live in toronto I can safely say that i don't appreciate people scamming on the website i visit most, or in my neighbourhood. Please kindly either refund "scholes" his money, or send him the ipod.

Did you use a credit or debit card when you paid him through Paypal, or did you take money out of your bank account, or already have a balance?
 
Sorry man, that sucks. Open a dispute in paypal (I think you click on the payment details or something and open a dispute), and say you have tried to contact him multiple times, and prove he had 2 buyers. They should help you out. Just make sure you include all the info you have/can provide
 
obvious scam/fake paypal is obvious. Seriously, the email is something to question sending money to. Especially when there is no info of him on here. His profile is the most basic of basics, no feedback, nothing except 2 useless pictures. How retarded do you have to be to send someone that money with nothing but a username. I hope the guy who filed the paypal claim gets his money back and the ipod be shipped to the one who sent money as a gift. (very slim chance of ever seeing the ipod)

I've probably bought/sold/traded a little under 100 things on NS and no once have i asked for their personal information, cause i don't like to make a trasaction under $100 to seem like the louisana purchase, just too much pointless shit to go through.

This is pretty much my fault and i know that so i don't need the hate, just asking if anyone has any previous info out there, which I know will be silm or not any at all, but i figured i'd try.
 
didn't know you couldn't file claims with a gift, I'm surprised i didn't get screwed sooner seeing as how I've given about half of transactions as gifts
 
i'm just gonna say this. but if the person has 0 friends, or if the people on their friends list dont have that guy on theres, it's probably a good sign the guy is gonna screw you. Becasue nobody has to know who the person is. Jacksun is an example of this.
