old news i know, but i want to see what NS has to say about this.

I hate California and everything it stands for.

With that being said, I kind of agree with them. Although I think they took it way too far, parents who home school their kids definitely should be required to get some kind of credentials or pass some kind of course.

if the kid can get a ged, or score on the sat/act thats all that should matter. tons of parents dont want their kid in the state controlled school system. as a new parent myself im actually starting to have to look ahead to stuff like this, and its frankly kind of scary to think that were moving in a way where the state could potentially have more control over the intellectual development of my child than i do. that gives me the creeps.

That's just a few people...we invented hyphy, gave birth to Tupac and Mac Dre so its all good

word, when i have kids( a long time from now) i will be in control of their education, through either homeschooling, or private education.

nobody that lives here calls it "Cali"...you sound like a n00bzor if you use that kind of terminology.

I agree with that. some of my friends were homeschooled in middle school and it was a fucking joke. its not fair to kids who have parents that work and cant homeschool them.

if i were you i wouldnt draw a conclusion on Homeschooling as a whole based on one bad experience..

if you do that, then i will draw a conclusion about the school shooters all being public schooled..

Tupac was born in New York, and Hyphy is a joke, if thats all you got, then thats pretty sad

Hyphy is not a joke, its a lifestyle. I don't know what you are talking about. Tupac lived in norcal for a long time, its obvious where he liked it better.

I've traveled all over the US and I have to say california, florida, and colorado girls are the best. But CA has the best of the three.

Oh and Aspen, didnt mean to sound like a dick if I did. NorCal or SoCal is cool to type out depending upon where you are talking about.

look, i was homeschooled for 10 fuckin years. and from my personal experience and seeing the experiances of others, it works fine.

First off, SAT and ACT scores of students are on average higher than those of Public schooled kids, and kids not only learn the material but HOW to learn. One thing i've seen since going to public school is that kids learn to memorize shit and spit it back out on a test but not actually learn WHY something is the way it is, especially in mathematics.

Also, if you think that Homeschooling Parents just bullshit stuff, most if not all states require that homeschooled children take an annual test to show that they are in fact learning something. Ironically i used to take the California Achievement Test.

One more huge myth is that it makes children socially awkward and shit... NOT TRUE. They only become awkward if you shelter them.

California, Florida and Colorado girls? There are many different types of Florida girls, so many fake ones. HAHA! I would know.

It's ok. I was talking about California in general. Just for the record though I do say NorCal and SoCal a lot. HAHA!

Honestly anyone who hates on california is just jealous cause it is the best state in the US and the most prosperous, and we could live on our own seperate from the US and still be the 5th largest economy in the world. Your just mad because we have the best looking girls, and the best weather, and way more chill people than anywhere else. And the best weed.

I think if you took those same home schooled children and put them in public school they would still score higher. Most home schooled kids are the product of educated parents who value education. That fact alone is going to make the kids do better in school than other children who only go to school because its the law.

Most of the home schooled kids I've met are socially awkward. I'm not saying its definitely going to happen if you're homeschooled, but I know I would hate to miss out on all of the stuff I did at school.

I took the California Achievement Test in like 1st -3rd grade. I always dominated it. The cats tails always were at the top of the graph and then it would say I was smarter than 98% of the people that took the test or whatever.

Wow, such hate for my homestate over THIS?

being that the educational system has to PLEAD for government funds using a number of students that used the school system over the year... they are probably just trying to get all the kids into the system as possible... its a free system, and intended to be free as long as people use it. so getting as many people into it as possible makes sense to me.

whether or not prosecution is the right way to go about the whole thing? Not sure... but I bet its not even CLOSE to as bad as you people think it is.

Its probably some slap on the wrist citation which costs 80 bucks, and depending on the court judge, might just get thrown out anyway....

BIG FUCKING DEAL.

Oh, and that would probably suck for you... goodbye 30% of the entire US economy, which would dwindle and die without california...

no hate here, i liked california when i have been there.

i dont know if it works the same in "cali" haha i said it.

here in MN the children who are homeshooled, their parents still pay for everyone else's education through taxes...

so unless the tax system is extremely different, the whole we need more kids to get more funding argument isnt really relevant. because even if the children arnt using the school their parents are still funding it.

Schools are given funding based on how many students go there. Its a way to distribute the funding. A school with 3000 kids should get more money than one with 300. I doubt minnesota is different in that respect.

I think he also makes a point of running through the halls of elementary schools and screaming about how Santa isn't real.

most homeschooled kids are gheypers. Do you really want your child growing with a gap and no steeze.

But really Just teach your kids to be critical of everything. And send them off to school, so they can be functioning member of THIS society, like it or not, it where you live and its better then most.

The bay area and back down, Cali is where they put they mack down... GIMME LOVE! California, knows how to party, we keep it rockin', we keep it rockin'.... NOW MAKE IT SHAKE! I heart my state, but I do wish it wasn't getting more and more crowded all the time.
