Calgary residents give some help. I am moving there in a week and just wondering a few more things.

My place is right downtown, and i am working at the TD Centre. Whats the area like? Pros, Cons?

Is it true everything is still open on holidays like thanksgiving and new years and shit?

Also, can anyone give me a general idea of car insurance rates out there?

Thanks guys and gals

I lived in calgary for most of my life, and it is a pretty chill city. Downtown as you know is quite expensive, but i need a more direct location, are you in ramsay or what.

i live in the northwest i like down town more. td is pretty laid back. and car insurance as a guess would be wuite expensive

Watch out for some of the Indians, they will try and git your money. TD sqaure is pretty dope, tis a pretty neat mall. Insurance rates I think are like Im just guessing between like $1000 to $5000.

If you are coming to Calgary in the next week or two, make sure you come to The Freshtival, pretty dope. 13 14 15. 9 movies. wall ride.

And lastly, you are a "green name", which means you are like a boss of this website, don't the bosses know they are supposed region related posts in the correct regional forum? Just wondering.

LOL really? Regional forums? Well shit! hahaha

Anyways...i am on 7th SW...not really sure where it is but as far as i know my building is pretty decent. Garden towers if anyone knows it.

I am super stoked...new city, new job...gonna be awesome.

I was already planning on hitting the freshtival...wouldn't miss it.

haha. Im not like accusing or trying to be a little shit, Im just asking why not post in the Calgary Forum.

Have you ever been to the City before?

OH yeah! Watch out for the Train Station on 7th street and 8th Ave. There is like a Rotten Ronnies, Subway and Mac's there, and it is the slimiest place in Calgary, tis all trouble dont go there. Indians with Mowhawks, and old ladies named Vindella trying to scoop you up and then they put you in a shopping cart.

lol well looks like i am walking right past there to and from work. great hahahaha.

Though I live in Montana, i go to Calgary a couple times a year to ride my bmx. If i had to live in a city, I would probably live in calgary. I love it there. I heart canadians. Sigh.....

dude youll love it. car insurance its pretty high, but im guessing that if you live in the garden towers and work at TD your a bit older so its gonna be alot cheaper. unless you got some major tickets youll be fine. by the way get your fortress pass right now. its gonna be a fucken good year. go to www.skifortress.com .

Downton Calgary is sick, you gonna love living there, got everything in a very short walking distance, good night scene, plus the Saddledome isn't too far away to go watch the Flames. Don't have too much fun...

Where are you living exactley and how much are you paying? The building your working in is very nice so dont worry bout that. You most likely wont need to be driving that much other than to go to the mountains.

haha, no not so much. Come to sportchek, (i work there) we're selling tickets for under $20 with gst, kinda shitty seats, but they're really cheap tickets, so it evens out.
