RIP. So sad to see this, I have nothing but respect for this man. That beeing said, I don't know whether or not I agree with how X Games handled snowmobiling freestyle and best trick this year. Too many crashes in the freestyle. Both the Caleb brothers had to back out from the competition and Daniel Bodin should thank the gods he wasn't seriously injured on his flip where he almost did the exact same thing as Caleb only on a bigger kicker. Maybe the staff should have stopped the competition and done an inspection of the course? Remember that both the Caleb brothers injured themselves on the exact same jump, doing a trick they had done several times before. There might not be much in that, and again it's just speculation. Then the frightening thing. Jack Strong, former contender in the freestyle FMX best trick from the Summer X Games. He actually attended the competition trying a body flip variation which he had landed on an FMX bike. The strange thing to me here is that he only had approximatly 4hours ever spent on a snowmobile before doing that. I mean, like wtf X Games? Seriously? On his first attempt he ejects mid air, cause he had problems with the clutch and wasn't used to handling the snowmobile itself, resulting in a heavy fall and the snowmobile to rush on its own out in the audience hitting an innocent bystander and sending him to the hospital. Like really? To me that shows serious lack of safety from the organisers. X games has been known for taking serious safety precautions, but in this case I really felt that this was poorly done and handled. Just my toughts. Again RIP Caleb, toughts go out to his family and friends.
