Cool beans if they want to identify and live as the opposite gender, but don't try and pass yourself off as the opposite sex. You can't change sex. Having this distinction does actually matter. Sports is a good example why.

those kids didn't chose to be there. That guy lost limbs in Iraq defending his country and what it stands for, big difference. Yes those kids are brave, but they had no choice in deciding if they go to the hospital.

Think gender is wrong = fine, change that shit up if you want. Think your sex is wrong = lacks basic understanding of biology or suffers from delusion

Again I have friends and family that are gay no phobia towards them what so ever, because they are normal and dont have the need to slice and dice their bodies to become something that they are not.

The whole lizard thing and dog thing I knew that would be brought up, but here is the thing. How many people have you seen crying out to marry their dog? How many people have you seen on tv saying that they are married to a dog? None to my knowledge.

Now this guy really thinks he is a blow up doll. He thinks that for real, so who is it to say he isnt?

what is normal though? Is it what what's the mainstream? Because if we take that thinking, being straight is normal and being gay isn't. Or is it what is socially acceptable? Being gay wasn't socially acceptable up until recent. Hell it even use to be illegal to be gay. It use to be normal to own slaves and lynch black people.

But with reference to your photos. Katella Dash is a transgender woman who aspires to look like a blowup doll as she think it's the epitome of femininity. And as for Dennis Avner, he aspires to be like a tiger. He doesn't think he is a tiger.

But even if they both thought what they aspired to be, what damage is it doing to you? Just call them what they want to be called and move along with your day. Unless Dennis is going to maul you, just smile and be a decent human being.

First of all, it is not really about Jenner. The discussion is really about the acceptance of transgender people. Its just unfortunate that the first famous person to be public about it is coming from such a fucking disaster of a family. Because really, our society should be doing everything in its power to diminish the relevance of any and all Kardashians/Jenners.

Honestly, I think most of you would benefit more not from discussing the acceptance of transgender people but more focus on how various groups and people are reacting or not reacting.

There is a lot to be learned about the current state of various cultures by studding who is not making disproving noises, but would have been expected to, and who has not made an overt motion of acceptance and applaud, but might have been expected to.

Then there is this contradictory statement:

“If he says he’s a woman, then he’s a woman,” - Rick Santorum.

well my original post was about the feeling of being trans and then you wanted to turn it into a discussion of going under the knife being a conscious decision which wasn't my OP and a dumb point to make. But yes she underwent surgery on her own accord. Should that fucking matter though in the discussion on her feelings towards her being a woman? No.

The army has their awards and medallions. The Victorian Cross for example and when Ben Roberts received that award for his bravery it was big news in Australia. Just like Caitlyn Jenner right now. Veterans have ANZAC day (not sure of equivalent of the American public holiday), Remembrance day, and war memorials spread across the world. But sure, no one cares about our vets. I don't think anyone thinks people in the Army aren't brave or courageous, they're saying Caitlyn Jenner is ALSO brave and courageous. The army isn't the par to which you're not brave til you've been in the army. Bravery is not linear and thus comparing two different sets of bravery is stupid.
