I'm not trying to advocate running people over - but can you imagine being in that car and wanting to get out of the country. I'm sure they had a legitimate reason to haul ass out of there, it's not like these people were going to get kicks out of running 15+ people over.
 
I'm sorry but you're wrong. The police were on shoot to kill orders until a few days ago so now they are pretty much using anything but bullets as their weapons.

Hah, reading those defensive comments from US people makes them seem a little bit hypocritical. Saying "It was just a few Americans in the car, how can you blame everyone of US because of that?!?!"

Yeah...like the rampant "war on terrorism" didn't skew your views of ALL muslims and people who looked arabic by ethnicity (and by 'your' I mean the 'stereotypical' ones, not all of you, my dear people).

i'm pretty sure they were throwing rocks at the van before it sped through the car. not condoning it just saying that it wasn't unprovoked.
 
So that's an incentive to just blast through people? He could've just driven on slowly but surely and keep on honking, maybe bump into few, but that was straight massacre style.
 
Good idea, then the mob throws rocks and breaks your window. They pull you out of the van and take off your head. Option two they throw a Molotov cocktail at your van and now you are on fire.
 
the state department said it "might" be one of their vans, and even if it was, it's sort of unlikely that any diplomat of employee of the state department was involved, cause many of their vans were stolen earlier in the week.

i lol'd, but most likely its not an American diplomat. They prolly said that because people love to blame Americans for shit like this so people will hate us. but put your self in that situation, you're in a van with hundreds of angry people wanting to kill you approaching. i m not saying its the right thing but i kinda feel like its human instinct.
 
Although this is a tragedy, if that van had not started driving when it did whoever was inside would have died. It's only natural to self preserve so I can't realy blame them for stompin' the gas.

Also, if you are going to riot in the streets during a time of unrest and violence then you have to accept the fact that you could be injured or killed.
 
this. it's not like some guy went on a road rage and ran over a family having a picnic in the park. These people are fucking rioting. they are burning cars, killing people, looting stores, and up until recently were in a fullon war with the police.
If you were in that van with that mob around you, knowing what was going on, knowing what had been happening, and then people start whaling on your van and smashing windows and shit, you bet you would have done the exact same thing. Besides I have been hit by a car like that, and I just rolled on to the hood and off the roof. I doubt anyone died. Maybe a few broken bones, sure, but again they were rioters. they knew there were risks. and at least it's better than that guy who was hit in the face with a tear gas canister.
