Caffeine free energy drinks

well that was neat. I didn't even hit post.

anyway, what i wanted to say was...

I'm addicted to the flavor of energy drinks, and I know it sounds crazy but I think there might be a market for caffeine free energy drinks...of course they wouldnt be energy drinks then...lolzzzz i know.

but like, caffeine free rockstar, or redbull, so i can drink one at night. what do you guys think? there's a market?

haha. yeah well in all fairness i made the second post rapid fire so someone wouldn't make fun of me.

take an orange pixi stick and poor it in water....

or the Emergency packs, or airborne....

Pretty much tastes the same as an energy drink.

ahhh! i don't want to get into the politics of rockstar!

but...I really like the zero carb one, it tastes like wild berry!

Haha.

The zero carb tasted different, didn't know that. I like the pomegranate one, and the orange can one. Have you had the new one in the green can yet?

nope, not yet. At first I didn't like blue monster, but it's what my dad drinks and it's always in the fridge, and now I've kind of grown fond of it. I'll have to try the green one.

i don't think sprite has any caffeine in it, it'll give you about as much "energy" as any of these "energy drinks" you've mentioned.

Energy drinks are so bad for you, why would you want to take out the one useful element of said concoctions?

Are they worse for you than soda? I'm not trying to argue, I'm genuinely asking. I drink the sugar free ones, so I'm not taking in those huge amounts of sugar, and as far as I can tell they have a lot of vitamins. None of their other ingredients appear to be horrible????

But, I'm just saying I think there's a market for it, because people like the taste of their particular energy drink of choice.

I believe so, some of the additives they use havent been researched in depth by the FDA, and overloading yourself with caffeine and vitamins can harm you. Sugar free just means they use another sugar-like substitute, which is either broken down and digested just like sugar, or passes through your digestive tract and collects in other places in your body.

"said ingredients researched by FDA" ----> key phrase

funny this thread comes up, my friend passed out at a soccer game a week ago because he drank three monsters. it fucked up his electrolites and took all the potasium out of his system. he spent the night in the hospital with two potasium iv's in his arm and neck.

The ones that I drink use sucralose as a sugar substitute which is Splenda. And, I only drink one a day which has less caffeine than a cup of coffee. As far as the other additives, I'll look into them, but I know that a lot of the stuff in them is actually good for you, like Taurine, and B vitamins.

I think that's why they have those "consume responsibly- limit of 3 per day....no children, people sensitive to caffeine..etc" warnings on them now.

That sucks though. He must have been super dehydrated.

Personally, I can't stand energy drinks. Cool, a 15 minutes "high" and then a crash where you feel like a slug. Maybe cool for like a skateboarder in a halfpipe run or something, but not for me. If you eat right and hydrate properly, you should have enough energy anyways.

its possible but instead they amp up the sugar and other ingredients to make up for the loss caffeine

They're good to help get you going when you're feeling tired. Or to stay up when you're tired. I don't know what this 15 min. business is about, but I can drink 2 amps and feel the effects for hours. But they make me shaky and jittery so I don't drink them all the time.

OJ is pretty good at waking people up for some reason, but something that actually tastes like an energy drink? thats gonna be hard to find

also, on a side note:

i know a kid whos friends parents bottle their own energy drink, and its actually pretty damn good (csh, i know)

and

i was told by both the school psychologist and a doctor that if i have some caffeine it'll smooth out the firing of whatevers in my brain and let me concentrate better, it seems like BS, but it actually seems to work, anyone else heard this?

weirdd, i drank 11 rockstars/full throttles in the period of 6 hours and didnt have anything happen to me. i just had the harshed crash i've ever had and slept for a good 9 hours in the middle of the day haha

there are no caffine free energy drinks atm, but if you are looking for sustaining energy without a crash try vitamin energy, its the vitamin water approach to energy drinks and i drink that stuff after comparing it to rockstar, monster, red bull, NOS, and it seemed to beat em all as far as improving focus, energy level, and it seems to leave me crash free, i cant sit still after drinking one though but oh well, its still great stuff.

ive never really felt any effect from an energy drink anyway, it might make me more awake without really noticing it but ive never felt like a sugar 'high' or any caffeine buzz

i can't stand the taste of commercial energy drinks personally. they're generally horrible for you too. the only one's i'll ever drink are Yerba Mate based ones.

I realize I may have perhaps named this thread wrong.

I want to drink something that tastes like an energy drink, but doesn't give me energy. I'm not looking for something that doesn't have caffeine, that gives me energy, regardless of taste.

I think we lost track there a little.
