C.R. Johnson: Lost Love, Rats in the Pressure Cooker, and Walking…

that was such an awesome article...my next free writing essay too...

Gravity sucks

What's the difference between a drunk and stoner at a stop sign???

The drunk speeds through, the stoner waits for the sign to turn green.

Yeah well written man, one of the best pieces I reckon I have come across on this site, made your point well. Not just some random rant that we seem to see a lot of here.

Best written shit I;ve read on NS in my whole life. CR is the shit, along with Sage and they are the two skiers that I respect the most. CR's seg in Focused is the best.

I agree. Thank you for the great thread. I can tell you put alot of time and effort into this, and I really think it shows.

One comment though about Greg Tuffelmire - I think it's completely unfair to call him washed up. He may not be on the progressive edge as some of these younger kids are, but he is still very active and contributing to freeskiing.

He single handedly has helped me love skiing. I got the chance to hang out and ride with him for a little while back. Ever since then he has been one of my inspirations. The reason why is because no matter what you hear about him, he skis for the right reason; because he loves it. He loves skiing for what it is and has a completely genuine passion for it. Also, he has been real inspiring to me because he wan never naturally good at skiing. He got where is is because he worked for it. He'd push himself, throw himself, or do whatever it takes to step things up. That in itself has showed me that if you want something bad enough, that you can get it - if you're willing to work for it.

And he may not be the best skier, but he has arrived at the level he is at because he worked for it and nothing else. For this alone, he has my respect.

good job dave. did u make this an article too?

i respect what CR has done but im still not a fan of him. i just hate the whole ganster thing all the pros seem to be doing (simon and tanner also)

Im not sure that i could pull off being and Gangstar..... But thats probably cos im not from the Gheeto.

Alright, so I've learned my lesson, no more derogatory comments about other pro skiers.

In a real article you would never see something like that and I can now see first hand why. This is the NS forums, so I have the unique opportunity to say those things without repercussion, however wrong or right they may be. I was just trying to draw a comparison with some humour. So lesson learned, thanks guys.

Although lets all admit it, GTizzle hucks his tricks and Simon Dumont did actually trash a house.

I like CR's skiing, don't get me wrong, but watching backcountry on the TV is boring.

Far too often people see it on slow mo in movies and think they can do it easily if they just try. Fact is, not everybody can. To whoever said his "2 tricks suck," I propose you do them, and inform us when you have the video.

If you love your sport, don't knock the guys who are good natured people who are tremendous athletes.

i remember a thread very much like thhis was made some months ago, actually it seems to be the same. and then it was waaay to many people hating on him. does it takes a injury to remove someones hate on someone? or what? thats bad

It was a great thread 6 months ago and it's a great thread now. Thank you for bumping it.

well crafted informative. normally I wouldn't think this way, but it is definitely good to see actions like his donation on the mountain, instead of him just wasting money on partying

This is a well-written summary of CR's career. I don't want to take anything away from it.

But I would like to defend the diss on Simon Dumont in this piece, letting everyone know that not only has CR given prize money to charity, but Dumont did the exact same thing two years ago after having won several grand, from I think the Paul Mitchell Bumps and Jumps. Dumont donated a few thousand bucks to a local Bethel, ME, charity, following that.

Props to both of them.
