Buying skis in christchurch

Buying skis in NZ is heticly expensive... im from Auckland so I dunno if there are any cheap ski stores down there, but I highly doubt it... Definatly bring skis, unless u wanna buy new 2010 ones cuz brands like k2 drop there skis early here....
 
K2 and Armada have their lines here ahead of time. I'm not too sure about solly and Volkl, haven't seen any of their skis around yet.

If you want to ride skis like hellbents etc bring them with you because there are hardly any around in nz. park skis are usually pretty well stocked though.

I don't really know christchurch that well but R and R sport will have some. They've got K2, Volkl and Soloman I think
 
Because of the exchange rate it could be worth buying skis in Christchurch, but its true there's a really small selection of pow skis, mainly because they're not much use in NZ. But in Christchurch you could try Victoria Ski Sport, Snow and Surf, R and R Sports, or Gnomes Ski Store which is on the way out towards Mt Hutt, not in the city
 
Bring some with you. Skis here are much more expensive than in the US. Especially if you buy something on sale at the end of the US season.
