Buying skis based on graphic

I have been trying to sell my nordica ace of spades for quite some time now, and i just ran across a guy who wouldn't by them because the grahpic is to "ugly", do any of you guys by skis based on the graphic
 
I'd be lying if I didn't say it wasn't a factor but it's not a huge factor for me to be honest. It all depends on how ugly the graphic is vs how good the ski is

ya i would way rather ride a good ski with a shitty graphic then the opposte
 
Well, to answer this question one must first ask what they truly desire. does one desire a fine looking ski with poor quality, or a poor looking ski with fine quality. for most people the graphic does factor in but does not mean much, but there are some who only look for the graphic. I believe this truly makes a statement about ones true ski identity. so to conclude yes
 
When I was younger, yeah. Now, it does matter but I wouldn't choose a great ski over another less good ski because it had a better graphic. It's definitely a factor but there's more relevant things to consider.
 
working at a ski shop its quite funny on how many women will not buy the ski that is best suited for them because it wont match anything that they own, or it doesnt match there ski boots. Its become more of a game at the shop that i work at to guess if they will comment on the graphic

Exactly! I did the same as a kid, but I think that was just because I didn't know a lot about skis. Like no knowledge and/or experience about materials, flex, shape. All that stuff. But nowadays I wouldn't just rush to a ski because it looks cool. I think kids should be instructed and taught about skis, so they don't end up in a situation where they have skis they don't like at all because they don't fit the style of skiing they have.

Yeah haha when your like 7- 11 or so you don't really care about performance. Pretty much every ski is the same to kids that young. So I always wanted what looked best. At those ages though most people should probably rent because you'll be going through skis so fast. I think I started really caring how my skis performed when I was 15.
 
I'm an advocate of good skis as opposed to stellar top sheets or bases. Take ON3P skis for example. Personally i'm not a huge fan of them nor am i a fan of Line skis graphics (except for Eric Pollards masterpieces). But does that mean they are shitty skis? HELL NO!!! ON3P has a reputation of being some of the best and Line is nothing to turn your head to. Ski graphics shouldnt play a huge role is your selection. If that were the case i'd be riding 2012 mr pollard opus's all over the place 24/7.
 
I usually buy skis after they've been out for a few years so I can get a better deal on them and will try to find the model year with the graphic I like.

If you don't look good, don't go out on the hill.
 
Sometimes I take it into consideration, but it's usually just a bonus if the ski has cool graphics.

and DAMN did I hate how I looked but the skis are some of the best out imo, and the boots are definitely super solid just had the look of a unicorn puking rainbows

FUCK GRAPHICS

This year I even dropped a bundle on these bad boys but hey, I rode them last year and they were honestly amazing. I even love the bases on em just not a fan of planes on my skis

Graphics are a factor, but for me they don't stop me from buying a solid product
