Buying old crappy bindings?

I live in Georgia and hardly ever get to ski but I'll probably hit the slopes once or twice before the ski season is over, I have a pair of 08 Suspects someone gave me that I want to get bindings for, but I'm kind of strapped for cash. Would picking up a pair of 10-15 year old bindings for 20 bucks get the job done?

depending on your skill level, yes. because you only ski 1-2 times per year, you probably aren't going to hard, and your gear doesnt need to be able to take as much abuse

Bindings are not something to cheap out on. The 10-15 year part is not very settling. Depending on the specific condition of he bindings is really the difference maker. I myself would not trust those bindings.

I have 10 to 15 year old bindings on both my skis, and they work great. BUUUT they are old FKS bindings that were almost new when i got um and are mostly metal and have been completly torn down and rebuilt, regreased, etc. your typical plastic binding wont last that long, and even if they do they can get pretty grimy inside.

dont get bindings that old. no one is going to tell you to do it, cause if you get hurt, it sucks for them as much as for you. will it probably work? yea. but you still shouldnt do it. your knees will thank you after you dont blow um out.

the problem with old bindings is that you dont know what the insides look like. in essence they're just big springs. if the previous owner didn't back the DINs off during summer or had them set on 12 the whole time they may not function as expected and you could get hurt.
i dont know about you but id be fcuking pissed off if i decided not to spend $200 on a pair of new bindings then did my knee and limped for the rest of my life.
