Does anyone here use the Itunes store, or Napster to go, or whatever the hell else there is?

I keep arguing with my friends that nobody ever does this, but apparently sales are wonderful for these guys.

What do you guys think?

I have a $40 gift certificate to the iTunes music store, but otherwise I don't think I would buy anything from them... why not pay and extra $1.50 at the store and have the actual CD?

i usually only use itunes when i have a gift card or its the free song on tuesday. i think i have one hundred songs but only 10 did i actually pay for. i have pepsi to thank for that one

i use itunes music store for impulsive buys and stuff that i can't find on limewire or torrents.

i used napster for that free trial that they have, i downloaded over 7 gb of music and converted it to mp3 (yes, its possible to convert from pWMA to mp3 with a program called virtuosa). didn't pay a dime for any of that music.

i also use eMusic every now and then. its 20 dollars for 90 downloads, all mp3s. the main reason i use eMusic is because it gives you mp3s, not protected files like itunes which I can't play on my mp3 player.

 
i use itunes when i have the gift cards, or when i don't feel like waiting a week to get the cd in the mail, i buy a cd on itunes if they have it

my friend paid for limewire pro but hes a tool and that program isnt entirely legal even with the pro edition im pretty sure.

 
this one girl in my town got sued by the RIAA so I've kinda stopped the illegal downloading. The CD's are really cheap compared to the stores around here (10 instead of 15) so its not that bad a deal. I've bought a couple individual songs too. You can download so much faster from iTunes which makes paying for it a little more worth it.

i only download free music. if im going to buy music, then ill buy it at a show, support the bands and have an actual cd to show for it. im not going to pay to download music. it just seems like a complete waste of money. its not even that cheap.

isnt the point of buying an album to get the case, sleeve or whatever and the cd, record, etc? i dont know about you guys, but id rather not spend 20 bucks on something that will just take up space on my hard drive

I use iTunes, so if I do end up buying music, I feel loyal to buy from them.

Althought I'm not oft loyal in the music buying game. It's really only if I want a CD I can't torrent or can't get all the tracks on limewire or bearshare.

iTunes sales are phenominal though...

my friend is weird, with that stuff, he'll look on itunes for a song not find it then dl it on limewire, whatever program he's in the mood for he'll use

I only buy music if I have a itunes gift card otherwise i just use torrents. I know some rich kids that buy off itunes and they dont even know what limewire is.

 
yeh, i use limewire too. its the best thing that ever happened to me... besides skiing and newschoolers

i have about 7000 songs in my itunes, none of which i paid for. if i like an artist or a band enough, i'll buy the cd. but they really don't make that much money off the cds anyways...

support your local artists, and go to actual shows...that's where the revenue lies.

With Napster to go, how do they try to manage the rights to the music? Like do the downloads expire, or do you just get as many mp3's as you want?

i use soulseek all the time. its fabulous.

ive tried limewire, winmx, and all those other programs...but they dont even compare.

ive never tried those bit torrent sites though. i dont really know how to use them. :|

i use aquisition (which is a great program for macs) once in a while, but if i have an itunes gift card or feel like buying a song, ill just do it in itunes.

why would you pay for mp3 songs anyway when you can get them for free? that's like paying for a pair of skis when someone is giving a perfectly good pair away for free.

actually its more like...why buy a pair of skis when you could steal a perfectly good pair?...but anyways. i buy about half my music, i like to buy cds. but if i dont have any money, i just use bittorrent so i can get full albums.

ill be super rich and own mt.hood and let everybody from ns ski for free... except freezed

me and my friends buy cds and just share them with each other, but we buy tonnnnns of cds. i guess i like supporting the guys i listen too

 
the album, not music. you can get the music for free. why pay unless the band is struggling or in need of expensive drugs?

the only legit buying ive done in the past 6 years is the time where they had the pepsi bottle cap free song thing. my dad owns a store with bottle returning and i sometimes g othrough those. i got a free surge hat once for doing that. what ever happened to surge?

Anyway, a gas station we pass. We got gas, and ran off to get grub.It was a nice little pub in the middle on nowhere. Anywhere woulda been better. I ordered enchiladas and I ate 'em, Ali had the fruit punch.
