Buying Line skis HELP PLZ

Hey yall,

need a new park/all mtn ski.

I'm 5'11", 200lbs, did 75% straight park days last season, have a pair of 181cm atomic access with F12s for pow days, intermediate but aggressive on rails, like big air, blah blah, current park ski 2006 Rossignol Sprayer BC 176cm (bit flimsy for me in wash outs), current binding mount at traditional

Had my eye on 2011 Line stepup 184cm or 2012 stepup 181cm. If I'm SWITCHING TO A TRUE CENTER MOUNT POINT mount point should I go on the longer side? Any thoughts on choice? also considering volkl walls.... open to other ideas

no when was the last time you skied lines

ALL lines are playful? no

my stepups are not at all just stable. hardly any flex so its kinda different but you got to get used to it and i have beaten the hell out of them and havent broken really fast

I disagree, I have beaten up my 2010/2011 step up's so much and not even a single crack or shit has appeared on them. Only thing is that they aren't a ski what you want if you want to do shit what you could do with light and flexy ski, but you can butter with them decently after they start ''breaking in''

First when I skied with them I was like eww with the flex and the weight, but after a week or so I really started loving them since I ''learned'' their best uses. They absolutely slay rails and you can do almost anything with them expect ''amazing'' butters like you could do with Abang's.

BUT: I don't know about those ''new'' Step up's since their desing has changed a bit.

But good ski overall.

I have beat my 2009 chronics to shit and still love them, definitely look that way over the step up. Next years chronic especially, should be the best one yet.

Next years chronics are supposed to be butter sticks get this years I anything or get the armada ar7 my friend got them after having step ups he says he wishes he never got the step ups

Ar7s look sick, very similar to atomic access.. i have a pair of those and i love them so much i wont rail them... the rocker/camber/rocker is super sick. but wanna get a park ski.

again i"m 5'11" and 200 lbs, so stepup seems like a logical choice. i"ll look into chronics as well. anyone know anything about how stiff/heavy 2011 Dynastar 6th sense spins are?? some smokin deals on those online right now...and the newer ones reviewed quite well.

181 Stepups or yea you can go with a center mounted 12/13 Chronic, we are making them in a 185 cm length. thanks for riding line! have a great summer!

Line skis do not suck, my chronics help up better than my t-halls. and i liked them more. Line gets a bad rap because they make more than one price point ski like the afterbang and mastermind.

Line's jib skis may be heavy, and they may be slow, but they are indestructible. You will turn them into noodles, rocker them, and stretch out all the pop before you snap them.

That being said, don't limit yourself. Lurk on here for a while and see what people are saying about different skis, look through Evo and other shops' descriptions and those of the company. The best time for deals won't start for a few more weeks yet. You have time, so be patient.

Id go with the larger size, when you centermount the ski it takes alot of the "longer feel" away.

When it comes to ski choice, I'd say either the Chronics or AR7 if you arn't just using the ski for park. Next years Chronics (if your set on getting lines) have some early rise so that may interest you, or just pick up a pair of chronics or ar7s from this past season online for cheep. If you are looking more for a streight park ski get the traveling circus. The taveling circus is the line anthem brought back and thats the ski i've been on for the past few seasons. The are perfect in the park and I rip mine all over the mountian (they are softer skis though).

I just got 2012 line step ups but havnt used them yet. I just came from the 2012 after bangs which i loved but were a little to buttery. Should I return the step ups or have you heard good things about them?

Was just coming in here to post that.

OP since you ski 75% park the Chronics are pefect! I have a pair and love mine when Im shredding the groomers or hitting a backcountry jump. They bomb hills and are very playful. Go look at them, really fun ski

Id go with the 178, but it depends what age you are at. If you are still growing go with the 183. Im about 5'10 and I got 178. Perfect size
