Buying Camcorders on Ebay?

I was just wondering if anyone has ever bought a used camera on ebay. The one I want has only been used for a hour but not know whether to trust him. Any advice or previous experience.

check out how other people have rated them. if they're rated above 98% positive, and have sold a good amount of things, then it's probably safe. If you're in the US or canada, make sure you buy an NTSC model camera and Not a PAL model.
 
i bought my vx2000 off ebay a few years back. best purchase of my life. i buy all my electronics off ebay you save so much skrilla
 
I baught a Canon HV20 off eBay for 450 (with wide angle/nice bag/3 extened batteries...etc). Just read the seller's feedback and check the score to see if its legit.
 
I personally hate ebay I purchased a set of pocket wizards and a scanner from different people both had really good feedback but neither item ever came and I ended up loosing around $600
 
Pal and Ntsc are the region codes. basically Pal model cameras are compatible with computers and dvds and such in europe and parts of asia, but NTSC is compatible with United states, canada, and japan.
Basically i just wanted to emphasize this because you could be buying from anywhere in the world and you want to make sure that you buy a camera that is going to work with your computer and such.
