Buying a Mac

Like you said, you can do anything on a pc that you can on a mac. It works vice versa too though.

Ya, the way Apple portrays their product is kind of dumb, but I like that my new mac seems really clean, there isn't excess shit on the keyboard or anything, it just seems nice, I mean I really like my mac, I've used my friends laptops ($1,000+) and I didn't like them as much as my mac. Maybe it comes down to personal preference. I mean, would you rather ski ARG's or Donner party's? personal preference right.

I like the keyboard and trackpad on my mac better than any PC I've ever used. I like the aluminum case. I like dashboard. I like being able to seperate all my windows with my trackpad. I like all the cool little shit that it comes with.

Are you saying I should have bought a pc?
 
The fact that it's easy to install Final Cut Pro on a Mac. I have OSX on a PC laptop and despite the fact that it cost half as much it's not an option for 90% of computer users.
 
If you have the money buy a MAC.

You can install windows on your mac if you need to. The price premium will be worth the difference to just have windows on it too considering the parts in the mac are designed to be more compatible with each other and are of a high quality than 75%-90% of the PC's out there.
 
Please stop pulling numbers out of your ass. The fact is that the parts are designed so that apple can make extra money selling you even more bullshit instead of using standard ports and peripherals already used by the majority of computers in PCs. Price does not always directly correspond with quality. The fact is you pay more for your hardware, and you pay more for the peripherals. In return you get a simple stylish effective computer. For someone like me, why would I pay extra money for just to have a mac that I am going to install 2 OS' on neither of which are produced by apple based. For my purposes, it doesnt make any sense. I would effectively be paying more to have an apple logo on my computer and having to buy a bunch of extra cables and adapters I wouldnt need to buy on my pc~
 
i work at the computer helpdesk at my college, and we RARELY see any broken macs come in. on the off chance we do, they are usually easy to fix. vista is OK, but it is prone to a lot of problems, and is a memory hog.

if you want to do movie editing, imovie is ok, but there are programs like adobe premiere that are way better, but will cost ya (hard to find a torrent too)

or, if you really wanna be balla, you can run linux like me
 
Bitch please. Not everyone has the time and effort to go through to get all that shit and learn about all of it. We got shit to do son. No need to be a dick about everything. I was more or less agreeing with him.
 
i love my new mbp, i am in courses that require me to use fcs2 and other osx only applications, so i feel i can justify the purchase. if youre just getting one because its a mac, and youre not required to use antything that is mac specific, i would go for a pc and save some money.
 
Buy a Mac if you want a Mac, buy a PC if you want a PC.

Seriously arguing over what is better is absolutely retarded. They are two different systems, both can pretty much do what the other can its just the format that you most like to work in. The reason a Mac costs more is because it is a mac your not buying the same thing therefore its not expensive when compared to a pc because it does not do the same thing in the same way. Sure you can get the same spec hardware or better spec on a windows machine for cheaper but then you have to use windows.

I have both, and it all just comes down to personal preference, i prefer doing some stuff on one machine and other stuff on the other. Having said that in general I prefer the mac, its less hassle to most things. I would say they are more reliable, but not by a vast amount. If your not retarded your PC shouldnt fuck up, the problem is most people are stupid and do stupid stuff to their pc whereas a mac its harder to fuck it up because you just click shiny bouncy things all day.

However if you are not that fussed by the operating system, and the GUI then i suggest to buy a pc because its cheaper.
