should it be a world record if not available to other competitors?

colby was going 5 feet higher than simon but because redbull paid the bill no one heard of it...
 
Where did you hear this? Pretty sure it was legit because they had the official record guy there. But you could be right, just sounds fishy...
 
First of all, the cover is fuckin legit. Second colby got like 30 feet, so like 5 feet lower than simon did. This is a official Guiness World Record and there was a guiness guy at the spot when simon did the record. This is official and it stands free to every skier/snowboarder to attempt to go higher, so it is a free competition!
 
An official record that every skier with access to a $200,000 qp has the ability to challenge.

Nothing against Simon, right now he goes bigger then anyone else in both halfpipe and qp, he's got big balls, and he is an unbelievably talented little gymnast, but lets be real... this is NOT a record that any but a few select people will ever have the chance to take a shot at challenging.

Colby definitely said that he could have gone bigger then Simon (this is debatable), but the plug got pulled on the whole thing as soon as Simon got the record. Redbull (and Simon's agent and sponsors) sure as hell weren't going to let anyone else get a shot, at least not on that qp on that day...
 
I would rather Colby have it that Simon, he is already cocky enough . Simon, go win a big mountain comp then i might have a little more respect. you all know there are a number of guys who could have given him a run for his money "quite literally" if they had an opportunity to hit that shit.
 
i do know that as he was getting higher and higher simons people told him to cut it out.

he was never really given the opportunity to go for the record himself. im not saying he would or wouldnt have, i just know that the sunday river/red bull/salomon/whoever else crew wasnt having it that day.
 
He went a day over on the shoot as it is, so of course they pulled the plug. I would believe that colby might have been able to go bigger than simon given the time, but honestly even if he could he either isnt a big enough douchebag to do it the same day as simon or he is a douchebag but just couldnt quite pull it off in time lol~
 
red bull isn't even extreme anymore now...
the guinness book of world records, now that shit is extreme...next thing you know kids on ns will be buying fake guinness book new eras.
 
its the travel guide "collectors edition"....colby was going bigger and they pulled him also he was wearing monster helmet which he had to remove.
 
I'm sure monster or nike will probably pony up some cash as they have colby, jossi, tj, tucker, olenick, and make it a legit comp soon....simon deserves it has hes busted enough shit and is probably on the down the comp curve
 
have you watched any pipe comps? simon just destroys everyone in height and throws a cork 9 down at the same time. and how is he at all going down in comps? just got third in freestyle.ch...to tell you the truth i sort of wish candide still had it, im pretty sure he had it before that snowboarder got it, i may be wrong though.
 
I really dont think the record should be attempted again.

This is like the cliff jump record.
 
That's completely untrue... Colby boosted a massive 23 feet with an air to fakie, and he was going pretty big too, but he never got nearly as close as Simon as far as actual height. I talked to him about it.
 
ya i was told earlier in the day colby gave simon a run for his money and got a bit higher then him, then a few runs later after simon got pumped up from that he put down the world record
