Butternut

the features are somewhat unimaginative this year...

a triple flat box just stacked on after another

and tiny step up jump

tractor tire laying on the ground

a few small boxes

the urban rail is up, as well as a down rail (flat bar)

two somewhat beat jumps at the bottom too

the park is sora gay this year i mean they have 3 boxes stacked one after the other like steps but for a shitload more room to ski on but it sucks balls. heres a video that my boarder friends made a few weeks ago at the buttered nuts http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYdyVqq8lwAoh and in my opinon butternut has like no good terrain its really flat i would either go to catamount, jiminy or bousquet.

Hey I am going to Butternut this weekend for a training trip for inner city kids (yeskids.org) hopefully I can get some free time in, what is the deal with their parks? I know one is pass only, is the smaller one pass only or no? I know i wont have time to get a park pass, anyone know what is up? Their site looks like it shows last years setup. Thanks for the help in advance

the park is okay by ma standards.and butternut is really annoying with the park pass they have people standing up there checking for passes. when i went i didn't bother getting a park pass and just cut through the woods below where the guy was checking for passes, lol.

You don't really need a park pass. Just act ike you have one. That's what I did for the month and a half I was home and I never got caught. If you dress like your good they will presume you have one, believe me.

I was up there once this year. didnt get a pass, just tail buttered my way past the guy and he let me through everytime

quite a few jumps setup there now, an attempt at a "halfpipe" as well. interesting stuff.

they now put boxes flat on the ground so the snowboarders can "ollie" onto them, a cute idea i guess but really annoying sometimes.

yeah, if you drop off the trail before the park and then sorta "pop" into the entrence, the buys will let u go in w/o glancing up. there really just to stop the little kids from trying to climb up the takeoffs. parks ok right now; everythings a little icy but i think they're gonna be switching it up soon, since there's a railjam in 2 weeks. mini park is...a mini park.however, for $20 mid week, its pretty good.

i was there today. regular trails were really fun, the park sucked pretty hard though. i kinda feel like the park only gets groomed once a week. it was really icy still.

trails, fun, and butternut in the same sentence? flattest mountain int he berkshires, i guess with the park its alright for the value though. Id choose jiminy or catamount, or make the extra drive to mount snow.

oh jesus, please don't suggest bousquet over anything. it would have worked a couple of years ago, but not anymore. not a chance
