It is a pretty small mountain but it's pretty fun and usually has a good/well maintained park. It's in Western MA (Great Barington).

Yes small, but probably the best park in the state. So therefore it's the mountain to go to if you're not trying to make the treck up to vermont. jumps are never too big, but there's a solid amount of good rails features that are switched up quite frequently making it a very fun park to lap and have constant good times at.

they open i think the 25, and whos in the sure crew? ive been going there for a long ass time and see the same people. But i seem to only notice like Peyton o Connor but he dosent go anymore. Evan such dosent really either. But ive seen George K there.

yea, peyton and george are both at college. but evan will be skiing there this year he was at sundown last year.

Peyton George and I will be shredding Stowe this year, dropping edits. Wooooo!

but we'll be back for a month in decemburr and january

Well here in ct it drop lower one degree everyday and by next week it will be under 32, so i think Mass is probly pretty cold by now at night. And arent u in stowe by now?

yes I am in burlington right now, and the temps have been relatively high for this season so far.

ill be at the nut a decent amount this winter though

"So here's the current story on our OPENING DAY.

We're still holding out some hope for Dec. 10-11, but more likely we'll open the weekend of Dec. 17-18. It's all based upon the weather.

We'll fire up the snowguns and get this season started as soon as Old Man Winter returns from his untimely vacation to the tropics.

We're looking for temps below 20 degrees for 4-5 nights in a row so our snowmaking system / team can lay down a deep white blanket for your enjoyment. If I get my Christmas wish the temps would be below 16 degrees for 2 weeks straight. Then we could show you just how much SNOW our system can throw out there."

looks like ill be home just in time for opening weekend ahhahah

Almost everyone goes there for there park, so not having it open first is unlikely, every year they open it with it open, it brings in to much money to not have it open.

honestly in your eyes every one goes for the park but that is very untrue i ski there once to twice a a week and theres is a very small percentage of people who ski the park. butternuts typical skiier and snowboarder is the family and racer. so my guess yes they will open in the next week or two but no they will not have a full park open maybe a few jibs. but butternuts main goal is to provide ski terrain to there main subject the family so they will not use their resources (snowmaking) for the park. and you need to look at mount snow hasn't even open yet and there even further up north. so like i said my guess is we wont see a solid bnut park till Christmas

since it's so late into the season right now, all they care about doing is opening a few trails up. theres a much smaller chance anything will be setup because thats not what they are focused on. Im guessing they will open up without a park possibly a rail and then the next weekend have a few more features

you both are idiots like justin said butternuts main goal is to just get open. do u really think that if butternut is going to open two trails for an example do you really think the terrian park is going to be one of them. it would be a hazzard for people dogging all the features, they will probably set a few jibs up but dont plain on having a full park with jumps and rails. with this weather we have had i can see them nott even opening completly till christmass.

and this is not last year. last year they opened in november which gave them plenty of time to set up a park before late december. in a week wee will be half way through december and they havnt even annouced when they will open.

Alright, but they did say they wan to open THIS weekend, which i doubt will happen but they also said they would be opening the next two weekends with more stuff open. Just call them and they will tell you.

future as in like this year? if they get night skiing i'll definitely be throwing down on a bnut pass, right now I'm torn between bnut and catamount.

It's supposed to be all sorts of cold next week so they might be able to cover tons of trails and I bet the park is a pretty high priority. my bet saturday of opening weekend they have at least 3 features.

naa not this year, in years to come... this is straight from there sight

We look forward to the day we might CUT SOME NEW TRAILS (management staff has been discussing this for a few years)

What about a few GLADE TRAILS?

Build a larger more efficient BASE LODGE that provides more room for guests to eat lunch and store gear, larger bathrooms and a much larger SKI & BOARD SHOP.

Build MORE LOCKERS for our season pass holders.

Install a permanent RACE BUILDING at the bottom of the race slope with web access, video, new timing systems, lockers for our race team, break out rooms for training and an enhanced timing and coaches / judging room.

Do you want us to add LIGHTS for night skiing & riding?

just saw pictures of some new wood hits, looks sick.... kinda disappointed that they made the roung bar a re directional though... pics are on butternuts facebook page

Another night in the teens! snowmakers are gittin er done! alas we wont have twist up and running for the weekend. if we can find space on main st or nut hatch we will set up a few boxes and rails! c u then!!

from butternuts facebook, so no full park, but a few features on main street sounds interesting

its offical, check their fb page, they'll be open this weekend with a setup, unfortionatly not in twisted. but none the less im stoked, how is going to be there!
