super excited the park is going to be sick with all the new boxes and rails they are building. whos gunna be there?

i will!and i am PUMPED!!!cant wait, and i heard the park crew went to cutters camp at mt hood, i hope the new boxes are sick.

I'm thinking about spending time at butternut winter break instead of my usual jiminy peak. Has anyone skied both and can comment on this. I'm mostly interested in park, specifically jumps. And if there are good trees then that would be awesome

well butternut's park is 100 times better than jiminy.they're rails are awesome and there are so many, and creative feature.they did lack in the quality of the jumps last year but the park crew went to cutters camp, so it should be better this year.it isnt really the best mountain for trees cuz its on the flatter side, but hey. your ownly gunna be in teh trees when its a powder day, so just use that money to buy a lift ticket somewhere else

i liked the jumps becuase i go to 2 mountains, butternut and sundown, and sundown doesn't really allow step downs... so i always looked forward to buternut!

yeah dude, butternut's jumps kinda suck. But then again Jiminy's kinda suck too.

I honestly perferred butternut's park last season beacsue they had some pretty sick rails. I was pretty stoked when they added that long down rail and that down flat down.

Sounds good enough for me. I'll get plenty of jumping and trees in at Stowe during school anyway.

the park has some good jib setups and some nice rails but the jumps are too small and the Lifts are too slow .. Jiminy Peak is pretty close to there and they have bigger jumps and night skiing and more importantly a 6 person high speed lift ..check it out

jumps may be bigger but absolutely sucked this past year, and they dont know how to setup a rail.

If you are anywhere in Near Western Mass, Butternut has the best park

this. the jumps at butternut might have sucked alittle bit but the rails were spot on. jimminys park didnt even compair

i'd say all the rails were great except the S rail, that thing was rediculous... they should have made it longer. SKi sundown's is 40 feet of amazingness

I hit up Butternut one day last winter break. The rails were amazing, but the jumps were complete trash. If you end up skiing there Dan hit me up, I'll be down to ski there a few days.

Butternuts always been sick and it's gonna get even better with all this new stuff they're putting in! So pumped for this season!!

Make sure to check out Peyton's Pass, the new trail that sneaks you from the lower lift straight to the park at BNut

Hmm, maybe I'll ski some at butternut this season and doing some filming with Peyton there.

I would get a pass, but I spend the school year in Avon at my grandparent's house so it'l like a hour and 15 min away, when Sundown is only like 15-20min away. But, I'll be making a few weekend trips up there this season most likely.

I skii'd sundown since I was like 10, but now I will never go again unless I got a free pass. It's like $38 for a 4 hour pass for a mountain that has I believe 18 trails... I had a season pass from 2005-2009 which cost me only $350 and went every day, I got a deal due to being on my school's ski team. Then I come back from college wanting to shred with Kirk and Kimmergay, and I had to snipe my friends pass because it was ridiculously priced. Fluff should do something about it.

Since when did I ever say that I was a good skiier? Seeing as I've been snowboarding all my life and skii'd maybe 10 times last season.

Oh em gee my Granparents live in Avon too...Well my grandma does.. RIP.

And i think the ski sundown pass is not that bad ( not like I buy one) Just be sure to get it before october 31st

BUMP

only about 3 more months!

also i check out the new rails,SO SICK!

super long c box, 3 new flat box(built very well), 2 long picnic table boxes, and they cut the kink off the death kink so now its a super long rail

J-EVS you missed something. They painted the huge blue pipe rasta. Anyway Im so stoked on the upcoming season at butternut. So many rails its rediculous. Now all they have to do it build some quality jumps which just takes some time with a snowcat and Butternut honestly has one of the better parks on the east coast.

you can always hate on sundowns ticket prices, but you can never hate on sundown. im gettin a pass to PC this year WITH night skiing for 150 bucks less than what i had to pay for my sundown pass. hell im getting a PC AND ALTA pass for 550 and thats still 50 bucks cheaper than sundowns for me.

too bad sundown is still the best place in CT,

wow i don't know how i just skimmed by that... that sounds so amazing, the flat boxes were pretty shitty last year and if the picnic tables are like the ones at PC...... it'd be sick... and that Donkey dick was reeeaaally intimidating and i only saw a select number of people hit it. gonna be sick this year

yo dawg.

i just realized i never sent you those dvd's SHIT!

im makin a new batch of them so ill send it out with that

and some stickers possibly!

maybe this year they'll actually utilize the entire left portion of the park trail and fill it with more rails. or maybe it'll be like 2 years ago when they had 3 rails/boxes in one section, and then ski down to the next section, etc...

and yeah. jumps were fun, but there were two. ALMOST not even plural. they can do so much more with their space.

BUT PSYCHED REGARDLESS

AAAAAW YEEEEEE

Dont quote me but there was talk that they were going to move the entire park to cruiser where it used to be. For those of you who dont know that is where the baby park was last year. However, it would be the whole entire trail on both sides from top to bottom. To me it doesnt really matter where the park is as long as they put in as many features as they can and they are set up well. One bonus would be that the park would have its own lift. On the other hand cruiser has always been a sort of baby trail and it would probably attract all the gapers that it always does regardless of the park being there or not.

I really don't like this idea, the park was perfect where it was the top was great for rails and the end was awesome for jumps. Cruiser has no place for bigger jumps. I hope this isn't true...

i cant wait for the season, hopefully picking up my butternut pass later next month. I heard that they were going to expand the terrain park where it is right now and start it higher up on the trail, just what i heard. i also hope they bring back the big jump they used to have on the right side two years ago because it was fun and pretty big for butternut. Cant wait to see all of the new rails and boxes they have for this year!
