Anyone have any advice on learning how to butter? I try to put my weight into but it just doesnt work to well. Any key things to do or should i just keep working on it?
alright thanks dude, i had boots before that hurt pretty bad so when i put weight on my shins it was killer, but now i got some fulltilts so im pumped. Hopefully no more shin bang
ya make sure all your weight goes on the tips.. if you need more work geting your weight forward almost "spring" your weight forward when you go to butter and the ski will flex and spring you around.. its kinda hard to explain it by writing.. easiest way to understand is probably watching videos and analyzing how its donegoodluck
hhaha nice.
but what skis are you using? you really have to find that flex spot on your ski and use that. if you have stiff skis then buttering will be pretty difficult unless you turn pro or some shit
invaders have "butterzones" these are spots in the ski that consistently flex.. they are sick for buttering.. i ride anthems and they also butter perfectlyyou have good skis to be buttering around! enjoy them
:Learn them on mellow groomers, that's what i did and it helps so much. I just find start out doing butter 1's then so on. But first find your balance point where you feel comfortable buttering with the 1's cause then you just throw harder and harder for the bigger spinning ones.
if your trying to do good butter 3's 5's or 7's first thing you need to do is be able to spin the trick off a rolller or knuckle. after you can spin it you just kind of cork it so your tips press against the ground when you do it. kind of hard to explain but if you havent figured it out yet ill put a vid up on how to do them - well.
when my friend taught me he told me to kind of carve into it on a knuckle and while you are carving just put all your weight on your tips...and the rotation would come naturally
