Bustin Robbers

So first off I should mention we live by USC, pretty much the super sketchy ghetto near downtown LA.

so Abe (abek) and I were walking to his apartment the other night and as we're passing the parking garage we see this really sketchy guy shaking bikes on the bike rack totally checking to see if they're locked or not.

he was so NOT smooth about the whole thing. on the way back down the elevator like 15 mins later we thought we'd intimidate him (carrying a guitar hero guitar and 2 boogie boards) by letting him know someone was watching him if he was still messin w/ peoples stuff. He wasn't there but soon as we got outside we saw this old sketchy tinted windowed Explorer right out front. That guy and the driver were loading bikes into the back haha. not obvious at all!

so anyway, we called the cops and just drove around and shortly after they caught them a few blocks away and we drove past and there were at least 6 or 7 cop cars surrounding the Explorer. people were pinned down on cars, lights flashing, it was great. After circling 4 times i decided i didn't want one of their gang bang friends to see my car and hunt me down, so we called it quits on our crime bust.

moral--if you're going to steal don't be an idiot about it.

For a brief moment I thought this story was going to end with you guys beating down these dudes with a guitar hero guitar and boogie boards.

That's pretty rad though.

ps- i'm a little adamant about catching bad guys ever since my house got broken into in June (mid-day) 4 guys walked out of my house with my new 47" LCD TV, PowerMac, 23" cinema display, video camera, digital camera, my expensive purses ::cough::, check books, passport, roomate's car keys, laptops, blah blah blah....

SO you should get renter's insurance if you're in college or going to college.

+karma to you. That would suck so much if I got my bike stolen. You should have written down the liscense plate before calling the cops, in case they drove away before the cops got there.

we did get the license plate. we drove past them when we were on the phone with the cops. i'm pretty sure that's how they caught them cause they weren't there anymore by the time the cops got there.

+karma for your bust. stealing like that aint cool. and i feel for u, it was prolly like 8 or 9 years ago, but my house got robbed too. scary as shit

nice. good to see there's people out there like you. i got 2 bikes, a PS2, my sisters computer, my coin jar (of all things) and some other electronics from my house. fuck people who steal.

and what if you walked up while some1 was stealin those knives...would you say...Damnit! i bought those knives to stab some1 like you!

Yeah so far between all of the robberies I've been through or heard about in the area no one has called the police or done anything... Even when Kristen's house got broken into at 11am with 4 men carrying out 47" tv, computers, etc.

So yeah, we want to change that up a bit and do everything we can to stop/prevent and maybe even wrongly accuse someone if it looks remotely shady.. you never know. The guy we saw dressed in a polo and a nice looking hat..looked like he dressed to fit the part of a student, but after seeing the getaway car and the looks they both gave me as I peered back to see what was in the car we knew something was up.
