that speach was pretty darn good. from the domestic issues such as the health care liability reform (which also served as a shot at j. edwards) to the talking about healthcare reform for small businesses (this strikes home at my house, as my dad is a small business owner) to the obviously more impassioned part of the speech on the foreign policy issues. i like the fact that Bush stood up for his actions, and paid tribute to the people that are doing the physical work in the war. pretty much all the msnbc guys are saying its the best speech hes ever given...

Even though it was hard to listen to the guy for more than 2 seconds w/o going insane, I thought it would've been a pretty convincing speech for an undecided voter. He took some pretty nasty shots at Kerry though, and very directly put Kerry down, which is bad form. I think a lot is going to rest on the debates, and hopefully Kerry can use the brains that Bush lacks to win those.

First off, It was a good speech. But all is not good. In his speech he...

He says he wants to restrain government spending.

-This is the man who rang up the largest national deficit in the history of the United States.

-This is the man who spends more than 2 billion dollars per week on the war in Iraq.

-This is the man who wants to approve 87 billion more dollars for 'bullets, fuel, and bodyarmour.'

By the time I finish typing this post he will have spent more money than I will likely see in my entire lifetime. ($2,210,760 approximately)

He claims he wants to put a stop to frivolous lawsuits. Then he claims it is for the benefit of the 'workers of america.'

I don't know about you but that reeks of corporate agenda to me.

He claims the Taliban is 'history.' When in reality it is alive and well. Afghanistan is still under their control.

The thing is, he can say whatever he wants now. He can promise and propose until he is blue in the face. But the sad thing is that after he gets back to the white house and things return to relative normalcy, he can do what he wants and what corporations want. When Bush gets back to the White House. Things don't change. He does what he sees fit.

As for the mudslinging that is happening on both sides. I don't like it but I belive it is the nature of this election and will continue.

But, I think it took away from his speech tonight.

He got to carried away catering to the crowd and did not concentrate on what he should have.

Anyways that's just my opinion.
