Bush's speech

Yes, I'm aware, but I'm not talking about WHICH civil wars to be involved with, I'm saying that right now, this isn't one that we should be trying to be a dominant force in.

Not a clue. I'm not educated or experienced enough to make such plans and I don't have time to outline everything that I think should be considered. I have faith in our congress to COLLECTIVELY come up with ideas that will work better.

and millions of Americans?

because millions of Americans don't know what the fuck they are talking about...how many Americans died in WWI and WWII. How many in Vietnam. How many in Kereoa. In every war we have ever faught in there have been lives lost. Thats what war does, and the fact that we have lost what 3000 soldiers? A small fraction of 130,000 i would say. I have spoken with multiple soldiers that have come back from Iraq, officers and enlisted, and all I have heard is that its war, shit happens, and everything is not what the press plays it out to be. They have all said that yes, there are some issues with the plan of the US government but it is not as out of control as the press plays it off to be. They have told me they were shocked when they came home and watched the news for the first time. I have a friend who works as a high ranking military officer working for the Surgeon General and is in charge of nearly all military and civilian hospitals in the region and he has told me many a time not to listen to the press and to always call him for any questions.

However, as with any issue there are two sides, and both those sides are always know to overexagerate in one direction or another. I just hate it when people watch the 6 o' clock news and think they are experts on the subject. (I got done ranting and realized that i have deviated from the origional post so dont take offese to anything I said)

thank you thank you thank you! So true! ton of people think they know whats going on by watching CNN (which is highly democratic, so even if most of it was True, it would still be heavily biased). My cousins husband just came back not too long ago. He said the Iraqi people were so thankful from the good that has been done they come out and try to give them hugs and food while the troops are walking down the street. A vast majority of baghdad has running water as well as electricity now, something they have not had in ages. The News is full of bullshit and is usually far from the actual truth of what is going on.

I didn't read most of the thread, but we kind of have to send more troops in. As much as I disagree with the war, we really can't just pull out. If we leave Iraq in civil war and anarchy, someone just as bad as sadaam, if not worse will take power. And guess who they will blame for Iraq being a shit hole. They'll just be more terrosrism and attacks against us. We're gonna be in Iraq for a long time, all because Bush had a personal grudge against sadaam. Worst president ever.

i can't even comprehend how idiotic you are.

There are several ethnic and religious groups struggling for power. They kill each other and foreigners with guns, ieds (homemade bombs) and any other means available. This makes it a civil war. I would probably call the people who blow themselves up dead.

The scariest part of Bush's speech wasn't the troops. We're just raising the troop levels to where it was last year. 20,000 really isn't that much, proportionatly. The scary part was the end of debaathification, meaning that Sadaams party, the Ba'aths, will be allowed to take control again. The scariest part was Bush hinting towards attackig Iran. Adding more troops and making a big speech about it is purely a political move, not a strategic military move.

have you guys even thought about what would be happening or would have happened if we didn't go into afghanistan and iraq? they would be walking all over us.

did you know that mr. william jefferson clinton had both hussein and osama bin laden had them in his grasp when we had a problem with them, but guess what billy did....NOTHING!

remember the uss cole? they had a terrorist attack on that ship and they had exactly NO ammunition.

also, remember when bill blew up the aspirin factory over there and he killed a camel, only a camel, no humans.

and we shall never forget the bombing of the US embassies.

as for the weapons of mass destruction...we had our hands on those during the clinton years, but i KNOW that they are in iran.

now for the troops...what is it like 3,000 now that have died?

well...how many died in vietnam? and...during vietnam there was a draft!!!! NO DRAFT RIGHT NOW AS OF JANUARY 11, 2007!!!

did you know that in 2001 41,730 people died on US highways, and 3,000 troops have died in a span of almost 6 years?

so get off of bush's case...let's see you be president, you children!

I think its ridiculous that we're bringing more troops to Iraq. We need to just cut our losses but because we are the U.S. we wont accept defeat and have to go waste many more lives. We are not going to be able to defeat the Iraqis, none of the generals of our armies believe so. It's all guerilla warfare, it has happened in the past it will happen again. It does not matter how many troops or how advanced we are, guerilla warfare will rape us like it did in Viet Nam and multiple times in the history of humankind.

this war is NOT comparable to WWII. and comparing this war to vietnam isnt going to help your case. unlike WWII this is not a war we should/have to be in, so 3000 US deaths is unacceptable. and do you have any idea how many injuries there have been? plenty more than 3000 lives have been ruined by this war.

20 something thousand troops is not going to solve the problem Baghdad alone has a population of 7 million +.

655,000 Iraqis have died too, but I suppose you don't count them as people...

I find it funny that you call everyone else children, yet you have the least intelligent post in the entire thread. Every single point in your post was beyond dense.

the truth is that most Iraqis want us there. They feel safe when the american troops are around. if we pull out now some other terrorist faction will take power

fuck you ya conservative piece of shit. it's people like you that destroy this country you Clinton hating, Bush supporting bitch ass trick. Clinton was really good President, who liked gettin his dick sucked by younger women. if you ask me that's one hell of a guy.

Personally i am a fan of george bush hes doing the right thing we need soemone to kill those fuckers so all of you stfu

ya but considering we shudnt have even gone in there in the first place. and nothing good has come from this, i will take this back if you can present a legitamate argument. oh ya and the reason we went into iraq was to find WMD's. wht the fuck happened to those?

Wow, Iraq's WMD'S are definitely not in Iran...if you knew anything about those countries you would know that the boarder is definitely not where they would bring the WMD's. Try Syria. Plus we also funded Iraqi operations against Iran during the Reagan administration, so obviously we knew we had them.

YAH BUT WTF DUDE thats like you fucking sitting back if someone killed your dog would you fuck them up dude? exactly we need to end this war yeah but we also need to fucking kill those damn terrorist iraqis and you really cant do anything about it but bitch and moan but seriously face it we need to fucking kill them to end it

there are not nor were there ever any WMD in Iraq, and if they were there's no way Hafez al-assad would allow them to be put into Syria. he's a relatively smart guy and all he'd be doing is fucking himself over by really pissing of the U.S. they may support "terrorism" but they aren't going to support Iraq by taking the WMD, remember Desert Storm, they were on our side.

i bet that's all you can think of.

why do democrats always have to jump into defensive mode and get louder, and louder, and louder, and louder, and louder?

what is one thing that clinton did for the benefit of our nation?

i really can't recall anything.

and another thing...MONICA IS A FUCKIN SLUT! I BET SHE WOULD SUCK AND SWALLOW YOU TOO JUST BECAUSE SHE LIKES GROSS OLD MEN!

and another thing!!!!!!

clinton lied UNDEROATH!

-big ol' surplus

-dropped poverty rate

-Medical leave act

-don't ask, don't tell (I'm sure you'll find this a bad thing, have fun with it)

-Brady Bill

-Earned Tax income credit

and that was how many years ago? almost 30?

that was also a different situation. a "friend" at the time needed help. remember...we are the most hated country in the world. shit happens that the US can't always control.

i forgot about syria! omg! strip em all!

about the deaths of iraqi's...it's war guys!...but remember, iraqi's are blowing themselves up, so it kinda causes other deaths too when someone blows themselves up...at least this is not like vietnam!!!!...it could be much worse...i do not like war, war is a bad thing...but i do support and trust bush and his descisions because i have a bunch of friends over there

oh yea lemme tell ya...he actually is a really nice guy though...i agree with glenn beck, he is the kinda guy you want to be friends with.

after all the stupid shit he's done i don't see how anyone can trust still trust him, i don't know if you realize the negative impact this guys making not only on our country but on the entire world. the guys a fucking tyrant.

we're in a deficit because Bush couldn't follow up the good job that Clinton did? Or because Clinton 'spent money on all of these stupid programs'?

there's nothing to accomplish in this war. we fucked it up. we gotta get out there's no fixing it. we don't even know who we're fighting. it was retarded to go in, its even more retarded to stay any longer. yeah, it was hundreds of billions of dollars and pointless loss of life, but that's why you don't elect a complete idiot to be president of the united states. lesson learned, hopefully.

ahahahahahahaha, that must be it! That's exactly why we are in debt. History DOES show that such stupid programs such as the medical leave act and the new deal programs were TERRIBLE for our country! hahah

That speaks more of your ignorance than of his policies.

-Played a large role in Israeli-Palestinean Peace Accord

-Played a large role in pressuring Kim Il Sung (N. Korea) to stop making plutonium and open its nuclear program to UN inspection

-Helped Russia out economically

-Lots of trade stuff that I don't understand (NAFTA and stuff)

-Controlled inflation

-Increased Medicare and Medicaid

-Generally awesome economy

Yeah, it totally wasn't the war or anything. It had nothing to do with the fact that Bush has increased spending more than any other president ever, and at the same time cut taxes.

could you put this into your brain?

what would have happened if we didn't go into afghanistan and iraq?

WE WOULD NOT BE THE U S OF A AND THAT IS FOR FUCKING SURE! we would be a freakin pancake with peanut butter.

****the medical leave act was a laugh and a half!

God you're stupid. So Afghanistan and Iraq were going to attack us, no, FLATTEN us, with the WMD and superior military that Saddam DID have, but forgot to use when we invaded them?

democrats rely way too much on the government to survive. yes, i do plan on having kids and having a career to support myself. you know what you should do so that you can retire and pay for bills? SAVE MONEY! what a concept! parents these days are not teaching there kids good money saving skills.

so what happens when you take time off from work to be with your child and you lose your job? Saving money won't prevent you from that; a program such as the medical leave act will.

Personally, I hate relying on the government. I don't as much as possible. I think that the government is here to protect us from other governments and that we should be able to fend for ourselves. I also feel that some people are just unable to support themselves and those of us that can help them should have the good conscience to at least try and help them.
